Forum: The Classroom Topic: Ka/Kb Chem? started by: Beastie Dr Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,01:59
Anyone willing to lend a hand to me with Acid/Base chemistry (Ka/Kb), ESPECIALLY related to titrations? I have the AP Test on Thursday, and I need a 4, but I haven't understood this topic the entire year, even though I somehow got a B on the unit test.

Okay...no help as of yet, but I could also use some on basic thermochemistry. I'd ask my teacher, but, a direct quote from him to me, quite seriously:"I want you to fail." Posted by liquid metal on May 15 2002,03:41
just to make this clear to you.if you haven't understood it all semester you won't understand it in the next few days. Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,03:48
You are wrong. WRONG. The only class in which I have been completely fucked up the ass in was AP Physics this year, which would be why I skipped the AP test today. However, I don't think two chapters are hard to learn in two days, I'm about 75% done with thermochem.

Dude just fuck it and come down to the eastside and lets go get high. Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,04:34
We need to do that sometime, I'm dead serious.

I will take you up on it at some point i am sure, but no weed smoking at my place my room mate/brother doesn't go for it. Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,05:02
My friend who lives over on about Oakland and Kensington has his own place, and smokes like a chimney, but unfortunately he's going to work at some camp up by Elkhart Lake all summer. I'm sure we can work something out before I leave, though.

with what questions are you having problems? Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,05:52
I.e:A weak acid, with formula (X)H, molarity [Ma], and Ka of A*10-7 is titrated into weak base. The base, (Y)OH, has a molarity of [Mb], a Kb of B*10^-12, and a volume of 200 mL. Give the concentrations of all specimens and the pH of the solution after © mL, and then (D) mL of acid is added. What is the pOH/pH at the end point? Posted by ic0n0 on May 15 2002,19:13
Beastie you got aim or icq?

I'd have to disagree...I took a discrete math class that I bombed thought he whole semester. So the night before the final, I sat down w/the textbook and taught myself and my buddy the entire semester worth of material. I must've done pretty well on the final, since I still got a C in the class. Posted by Beastie Dr on May 15 2002,22:45
Yeah, AIM, same SN as this name.

You took AP Physics and AP Chem in the same semester? Are these high school courses?

Yes. However, from the classes I've sat in on at UW, I'd they're significantly harder.
