In the "show me yours and I'll show you mine" thread, I mentioned growing my hair out, and people said:  "Go for it, you might not always have hair."

It's been awhile, and now it's managed to reach that can't-do-a-damn-thing-with-it stage.  Anyone have ideas on how to get through that period?  Beyond just jumping out of the shower, and throwing some gel in it, I'm clueless.  It always ends up looking like the 2nd picture.

The goal is to grow it out long enough to pull back to the nape of my neck - kinda surferesque.  If not that, then at least 4-5 inches on top, and kinda close shaven/tapered up the back and sides.  Not really sure on a final look yet.

Anyhow, here they are.  The first picture from the thread, and a recent one.  Anyone have opinions, or suggestions so far?  I'm 6'4", 165lbs... it might end up making me look even more wiry.

Short (kinda hard to see):

Longer, but still growing:

I get to that point every few months, due to laziness rather than intent.  I have found fuck-all that you can do with it, and usually end up getting it cut since it impairs my vision.  Gelled, if you ask me, looks like complete shit.  If you find anything that looks good, I'll probably be tryin it out in another couple weeks.

Yes, gel does look like shit.  It only seems useful to throw in while your hair is still wet.  At least then it doesn't dry out and look all screwy, but instead gives it enough hold to stay out of your eyes for most of the day.

"longer but still growing"

Gawd I loved that one.

Answer?

Grow it long enough to do something with it.

That picture is of the upper level of a parking complex.  We were at Thunder Over Louisville, which is supposed to be the largest fireworks demonstration in North America.  If you look really close, you can see one of the planes from the air show flying around in the background.

I thought it looked familar, I been to Thunder, but its been about 2 years, we usually get spots down on the river, across from the Galt House.  I love Thunder, its like one of the best shows in KY.

The wind is what screwed it up.  The fireworks were great at first, but because the wind was blowing directly at us, we had some problems.  After about 5 minutes, all you could see was smoke, and the occasional twinkle of colorful light.  It sounded great though!

At least the weather was nice for the air show this year.  It usually never fails to drop down to ~40 degrees, and start raining.

True, the last year I went, was the year Titanic came out and they done the opening of Thunder like Titanic .. it was ok, but dang it got cold that night.  Usually we end up with a nice view... I guess where your so low on the banks, that the smoke doesn't seem to settle as fast... *shrugs*  I will probablly go back next year.

Red heads are crazy in bed.  CRAZY.

I'll stick with a more down to earth blondish-brown hair on women.  It's sexy, and they're not quite so emotional unstable. hehe.gif

So, Rshias, what about chicks who had brown hair but colored it red?

/me admires that full length shot again...

They were crazy to begin with.  They just dyed their hair to match.

heh, I'm spoiled when it comes to fireworks. Living near Rozzi's and King's Island I got to see a lot of fireworks. On the topic of good fireworks display's the display Annapolis puts on for Independance day is always nice, especially when viewed from the water. Cincy's riverfest is usually interesting, in that you get to see them do some really neat shit with bridges. It's fun to watch from one of the taller buildings down by the river like the Enquirer building.

<Gloat>You know who has good hair... Me. I do it once out of the shower then it stays good for days, I know this because I once did it before a camping trip so I couldn't shower/wash it for the weekend and it was all good.</Gloat>

I used to have hair about the lengh yours is now, it was a real bitch to keep looking ok, I found that if I just got it to fall straight down by putting water in it I could handle it being in my face by always standing downwind so it was blown out the way, got strange looks walking backwards alot but hey I couldn't see them cos I wasn't facing them.

Seriously though I really wanted to grow mine really long too, but gave up so good luck to you on your mission.
