Almost there w00t!! Damn near got killed stopping on the 405 to take that pic. Posted by Beastie Dr on Apr. 22 2002,02:46
If that's an American car, you can show us a picture of it in the junkyard in the next 30k miles. Doesn't look like a GM though, since the redline is above 6k rpm. Posted by liquid metal on Apr. 22 2002,03:22
wow...10k...how long have you had the car? i've had mine less than a year and put on ~12koh yeah can i guess a nissan? doesn't look like a toyota dash. Posted by Wiley on Apr. 22 2002,05:13
I've had the car for six years, but I recently was driving a hundred miles to and from work. I put on alot of the milage last year. And it is not a Nissan or a Toyota ..guess again. Edit: The turbo gauge in the lower left is a hint. Posted by Beastie Dr on Apr. 22 2002,05:37
I am ashamed that I missed the turbo gauge. Assuming that it's a japanese car, and it's -not- a Toyota (Supra or Celica All-Trac or MR2 turbo) or a Nissan (300ZX), then it has to be either a Subaru (WRX), Mazda (RX7), or Mitsubishi (3000GT VR4). I don't think I'm missing any of the turbos. If it's not Japanese, then it's a Saab or a Volvo. But, you wouldn't be so low class as to drive a Saab. I don't think that the RX7s had gauge faces like that, so scratch that. I also think they had a higher redline. WRX would have to be my bet, since I also know that the 2nd gen 3000gt had different faces. This is all written assuming final-gen, so tell me if I'm wrong.

10k?that gauge says 100,000. Posted by Uberkommando on Apr. 22 2002,14:21
My guess is Mitsubishi.Hey! I drive a Saab! ...my dad doesn't trust car companies that don't also make jet fighters... Posted by Rshias on Apr. 22 2002,15:00
The older WRX's wouldn't meet California emissions requirements, so I doubt it's one of those. It'd be hard as hell to get 100k miles in a years time, so not a new one either. That pretty much rules out Subaru. Toyota and Nissan are already ruled out.Whatever it is, it's probably 5-7 years old if he drove it hard. So, it's probably either a Mitsubishi 3000GT, or a Mazda RX7. Posted by Wiley on Apr. 22 2002,15:01
It is a Mitsubishi. It's actually an Eclipse GST, not a 3000GT as previously guessed. I love my car, even though it is the car of choice for FOB College students ...second to the Acura Integra of course . I've had it for six years and it is still running good and fun to drive. At some point I should start thinking of getting a more respectable car, but I can't bring myself to part with my Eclipse. Everyday I'm amazed that Mitsubishi can squeeze 210HP out of a freaking 4 cylinder. And Mitsubishi makes jet fighters as well Posted by chmod on Apr. 22 2002,16:06
Mitsubishi makes EVERYTHING. I found a can of baby clams in the pantry with a mitsubishi logo on it...

Wiley, I absolutely adore Ecplise, esspecially the GST's. They're fucking BEAUTIFUL! I'm guessing though you got a 3rd gen, which isn't as pretty as the second gens, but faster I must admit. This is a real 2nd gen GS-T (not mine, I can never drive) Posted by Beastie Dr on Apr. 22 2002,23:29
*slaps forehead*I can't believe I forgot that. Jesus. That easily would have been my 1st guess, since I assumed the WRX was at least halfway asthetically pleasing. Posted by Wolfguard on Apr. 22 2002,23:59
Same reason i like Mopar. Cant go wrong with a car made by the same company that makes tanks Posted by editor on Apr. 23 2002,01:52
Didn't Mitsubishi make F15s under license?
