Call me a pussy if you want, but I like Special K. I don't care if it's good for me, it's good cereal.. provided you eat it less than .7 minutes after pouring milk on it.
Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Jan. 17 2001,18:20
good god, I like ALL of the cereal listed so far... special K, mmm...

all except Weetabix. I've never tried that one. I see it in the grocery store... "the #1 cereal in the UK." I've been tempted to try it, but never have (it's expensive... 8 for ū). I might have to run down to Safeway tonight and grab some.

even though eggs are really just the product of a chicken's menstrual cycle, i still like to eat them.

this probably doesn't make me a sick fucker, because eating eggs has been a widely accepted pratice for quite some time.

however, i gotta wonder about the sanity of the first guy who said 'see that white thing that came outa that chicken's ass? i'm gonna go eat it.'

Without a doubt, the best cereals are the ones that have gone extinct...

Nerds, for example, was nothing less than sheer brilliance...in corn puff form.

Of course, there's always Frute Brute (the discontinued bastard cousin of Count Chocula, Booberry, etc. revitalized in Quentin Tarantino films)

But the pinnacle of breakfast acheivement was definitely Gremlins, 'cause anything good enough for a Mogwai is good enough for me.

I love you Gizmo.

I just bought some Weetabix.

ATTENTION AMERICANS : Weetabix are most definately NOT intended for us. You can't pour them, you have to break them up yourself - how inconvenient is that? They turn soggy in 10 seconds flat, and taste like Raisin Bran without the raisins. There are things that make me wish I was English, but Weetabix ain't one of them.

Fortunately, I also bought Rice Chex. Now THERE is a cereal. If you eat them fast enough they'll draw blood from the roof of your mouth, like breakfast cereal should.

Posted by kuru on Jan. 19 2001,10:12
correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the mogwai eat anything.....and that was the problem?

to stop them from eating after midnight.

Thats why you put about a desertspoon of sugar over them before you eat them.

Well, i suppose it is more popular over here that it is over there, but i would hardly describe it as the english way of life. It's not _that_ popular.

I don't think, anyway.

Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Jan. 20 2001,07:24
the sugar helps, but it doesn't make them any less soggy.

anybody can read like a PhD if they've got a dictionary around.

hell, you can ignore almost half the words in a doctoral dissertation, and it still makes sense.

spelling and grammar levels apply to writing... which apparently nobody who was educated in the united states public schools can do well.

Damn straight. All you need to read is the introduction and conclusions.

If you want any specifics, then you have to read to rest of it...

so everytime i post something i just spell check it? i think not, if you can't understand what i am "trying to spell" ask. You people need to chil out about the spelling as if it was an indicator of ones intelligence.

It isn't? I don't know very many stupid people who can write or speak well. (I'm not talking about occasional mistakes or typos).

I actually had one guy e-mail me trying to convince me that "gotten" wasn't the past participle of "to get".

Wait, he just said it wasn't a word. What's a participle?

Posted by ic0n0 on Jan. 25 2001,18:38
I can speek well i can't write and type well added to my Dyslexia it's not a good combo, i would think in this pretty understanding world on "detnet" people woudn't be so jugemental.
Posted by PersonGuy on Jan. 26 2001,01:15
Hey, ic0n0... I understand. I was cheated out of my English education classes and it shows. However, I've made a big effort at trying to learn a little bit each day. For example, when I spell check, I got through without auto correcting, and then go back and change them all from what I read to be the correct spelling. Eventually you'll make less and less mistakes.

Anyway, along with being fat, it's a problem that alot of people can't understand (but I guess I'm being a hypocite, cause I DON'T understand "fat"), because almost all Americans had a fair chance at learning how to read write and spell.

I'm here for ya man!
