It has been moved into the class C catagory which means you can have it in you possesion and you can't be arrested for it. If you are dealing or have large amounts on your person they will arrest you for dealing or on suspicion of dealing. But if you only keep a couple of joints on you (better still if you use normal sized papers) the worst they can do is take it from you and give you a slap on the wrist.

If you are driving under the influence they can pull you over and treat you the same way they would treat a drunk driver. If you are smoking in your car at the side of the road and are spotted they will take it from you and make sure you don't drive away, if you attempt to drive away they will arrest you for driving under the influence.

For more info on it check out this page.

Essentially the push is to 'decriminalize' it. We've come to realise it's not worth the hassle to police soft drugs. In most places in London, you'll get a warning from the cops on it's dangers (yeah. like drinking and smoking isn't?) and confiscation. No arrest.

There was an article in the paper the other day about people getting it from the National Health Service on prescription.

i don't smoke weed, but I'm glad it is decriminalized. just one question though, if it's still illegal to deal, where do most people get it from? the whole point of legalizing is to eliminate drug dealers/drug wars

Not sure pot grows well on that rainy island.

Try hydroponic, or you can move to Amsterdam
*don't* try the Spacecake!

no comment. don't really like the stuff. i have several reasons why i dont think it should be legalised but we've had this conversation before about three times and i'm fed up of repeating myself
