I haven't been coming here in a while, I just stopped in to see what was going on, blah blah blahHere's my opinion on the state of this place at a cursory glance. Feel free to stop reading now. This used to be an intellectually stimulating place to talk to others of like mind. It was 1/3 interesting discussion, 1/3 humor, and 1/3 E/N. Not any more :[ Looks like everyone left after it was sold. This was to be expected of course, but I was hoping a similar community could've been created with the bandwidth contributions of the new owner. In what seems an odd twist, the bandwidth has become a non-issue, but the old feeling was completely lost. Editor: for the most part your posts are purile drivel. I'm sorry, you seem like a nice guy with good intentions, but quit hitting the damn post button every 2 minutes and let someone else get a word in edgewise. It is your site, but you have to let it grow on it's own. I had the same problem when I ran a BBS and it was dying. I posted more and more to make up for it, but it won't work. Don't try. You have the bandwidth, people will come. Get someone funny and interesting like DSL, Wolfguard, askheaves, or Whiskey to post updates on the main page. Take a lesson from Lowtax, be more hardnosed and don't be afraid to ban the asshats and clownboats like syphon (Richard). much of what you are concerned about may relate to the proven fact that the detnet email is buggy like the PM was/is. Editor has spent about 3 hours on ICQ and phone with detvets to address your concerns. Much of what goes on with detnet does not show up on the Bbs.

even though i don't post on these forums often, i do come by and look at other people often. that's mostly because i'm afraid of getting flamed, but whatever."editor," what exactly are these problems? as aventari mentioned, there were intellectual people here and i'm sure they're still are. perhaps not keeping these details on the bbs is your problem. the people here want to help keep detnet alive, not destroy it. share your problems with us and let us help you, rather than keeping them to yourself like you say. i agree totally with aventari. how about some new content? perhaps a few people should come together and make something? write a story, bastardize a movie, whatever! the forums are not enough. thank you for your observations...I've already noted several times that the pm was buggy, and I had doubts about the email...much effort was wasted emailing ppl off detnet and it appears for naught.DSL, Wiley, Vigilante, and xxxxx have all taken a look at the PMs; the email problem was just determined today. editor doesn't seem too welcome just now here. No no, I don't care or have a problem that minutiae of the site aren't working. Those aren't important. It's the CONTENT that matters, not the pretty icons and flashy design. Sorry man, like I said I think you're a nice guy, and I appreciate the hell out of the fact that you bought detnet and are trying to keep it what it was.
