That's right... if you have anything that might be of use to the site, and you think it would be cool if we used it, please submit it. Photos, scanned artwork, writings, etc.Please attach your submission to an email, send it to the editor (kbreak@speakeasy.net), and CC: it to me (jon@lunewax.net).

I'd lend < stickboy > or some of my various other shitty creations, but they've already been spoken for. I could do some articles, more shitty flash animation, what have you, but I'm at a creative exhaustion after writing my game.

That's interesting! Your first logo was for "detoante"!!!! The others were ok except for the second, the white/red one which is rill good! I try to squint at them and see which stands out.Could you add a little yellow anywhere? It looks like one color layer is missing, somehow. I know that's a lot of work but that's what I see.
I bet the second example would be wonderful in a GIFF file or flash movie. You could make the type leap out of the background...perhaps you could make it

Exactly what kinds of things are you looking for? Are we trying to keep it like the old detnet (parodies, and funny technology stuff) or are we looking to change/expand the scope, etc?

Yup! detnet is learning that Ikonboard is a little buggy....
so, mind telling us a leeeetle beet about what you can offer? That's generous, to write for detnet, and the editor is particularly interested in the "weird side effects" you mentioned.
DSL, Wiley, and Anztac are the motors behind the new site, and LiNey is the "lady of detnet". Richard is the wild card. Spydir has lots of enthusiasm. I just pay for the rackspace and toot my horn a lot.

Considering its bugginess, I agree, Ed. I myself have gotten a couple of ghost PMs and found it quite annoying. Functional? It'd be great. Not the case however. Can it!<edit: damned typos>

<- PHP, MySQL, some Photoshop, tech writing/research/etc, a bit of a sense of humor...If you're looking for some serious stuff, I have some whitepapers and such that might be of interest to geek-types (a nice intro to IPv6 for instance).
I could maybe do some easy tutorials as in "intro to..." Programming, HTML, SQL, etc. Was it DSL that was going to teach the Perl class? Maybe he could do a series of lessons or something?
I'd like to contribute whatever...my email is in my profile...let me know.

i just thought of something.what if detnet becomes a really crappy site with a bunch of articles on the same god foresaken thing by different people? im not too sure thats a good thing.
the same 4-page movie review by 10 people doesnt seem like a great idea.
maybe it should be kinda like a raffel. we put our names in a 'hat' and pick who gets to do what.

I wouldn't want it to become an open submission, automatic post site for anybody. It would be impossible to wade through. Some of the best writing seems to end up in the forums anyways. Still, it'd be nice to move it beyond the forums and get something on the front page again. As long as that desperation doesn't turn into shoddiness. Some sort of moderation model? Voting? Good scores give you more rights? I don't know...I'm about halfway through a review of the movie Ghost World which just came out on DVD today. Probably shouldn't have said anything, because now I'll have to finish it...
