I dunno why, but lately all I've been listening to is dark music, gravity kills, old NIN, music in that vein. It's weird, maybe it's just the weather? Maybe it's just my current overall lack of motivation?

What's everyone else been listening too lately?

Wyclef Jean, The Ecleftic

that's all or music in that vein?
Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Jan. 29 2002,10:10
It's all I've been listening to for the past week.  Wyclef is a badass.

Currently in the car CD player: International Superhits - Greenday
Currently playing at home on the PC:
[1]T Power featuring Amaziree - Running
[2]Cake - Short Skirt, Long Jacket
[3]Apollo 440 - Ain't Talkin Bout Dub
Goto 1

And to clarify for my OWN sanity, that 1st track is techno, not rap.  I was scared when I read it and thought to myself: "Delpino old chap, that looks like you favor the rap!"

my two newest cds are
jimmy eat world - clarity
fatboy slim - on the floor at the boutique

fatboy slim is just great. i love all that big beat stuff. "for me this is heaven" on the j.e.w. cd is my favorite song.  as far as 'dark' music goes, i think tool and a perfect circle do it for me. i focus on the music more than the words though, i guess.

heh delpino, i was going to buy that green day cd, but i already have all of them so... i figured it wasn't necessary  :)

staind's dysfunction kicks fucking ass.  I love the song "Me".  Disturbed, staind's break the cycle, and static-x's machine were in heavy rotation on my stereo for a while, but I'm threw that time.

You can tell what kind of general mood I'm in by what's playing in my stereo/mp3 list.  If it's mostly rock, I'm depressed or really mad (they go hand in hand with me).  If it's mostly rap, I'm pretty happy.  If it's mostly techno, I'm moderate, and just not in the mood for lyrics.  if it's a huge mix of all sorts of stuff, I'm in mixed moods or just not in anyone mood.

Little of everything, as always.  I found a bunch of older music that i used to love that I've been listening too a whole hell of alot:

Kay's Choice - Not an Addict ("I'm not an addict, it's cool, I feel alive!")
Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy
Dishwalla - Counting Blue Cars ("Must have been, mid afternoon, I could tell, by how far, the childs shadow stretched out and, he walked with a purpose, in his sneakers, down the street and he, had man question, like children often do... and he said: Tell me all your thoughts on God...")
Blur - Song 2
Nirvana - Rape me

Besides that I've been as always listening to The Crystal Method, BT, Digital Assasins, Moby, STP, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, Fuel, Bush, Aphex Twin, Wumpscut (thorns), Beck, Alice in Chains, Dido, Weezer, Fatboy Slim... well, that's all I can think of in the last 24 hours, but I'll probably listen to those exact same songs again today...  I tend to just listen to what feels good.  That seems to slowly evolve over time.

Fred Durst is a fucking idiot.
Posted by Cyrino on Jan. 30 2002,02:41
Ya, Fred Durst can eat my ass... biggest sellout... ever.

I've been listening to a lot of Vagrant Record stuff, like Face to Face, Saves the Day, Dashboard Confessional, The Get Up Kids (Close to Me is amazing), Hey Mercedes and of course Alkaline Trio, they are all amazing. I have also been listening to a lot of techno like Binary Finery, Darude (underratted), DJ Mystik, old Moby, Orbital, Paul Van Dyk, and a lot of Robert Miles.

Strange you should say that because Rock makes me really really overly happy, gives me loads of energy and if I have company I tend to mosh quite violently with them before we both crash and laugh like fuck about how badly we just ripped the ligaments in our legs to bits.

Current winamp playlist:

Taproot
Incubus
Nickleback
American HiFi
Lost prophets
Puddle of mud
Rival schools
At the drive in
linkin park
Slipknot
Andrew WK
P.O.D.
Foo Fighters

Makes me feel alll Grrrrrr, also listen to this sort of thing when i'm up all night. Of all the things you can do to that list sleep isn't one of them.

first...  dysorderia...  ICP IS THE SHIT!!  :D  :D  :D

jimi: I listen to rock because it makes me happier.  When I'm pissed off the fast guitars and drums and stuff just help bring out the anger, and when I'm depressed the slower, but still kinna hard stuff (Linkin Park's Crawling is fucking awsome for this) helps get some of the pain/feelings like I've been wronged out.

as for linkin park...  They're like the new KoRn, that's why I don't listen to much of their stuff.  They're pretty good though, I love the song crawling and a couple others, but they're to MTV loved for me to really like it...

:D well, no shit dummy devil.gif  :p  devil.gif

They have a fan base that rivals that of n*sync and britney spears, yet they don't put out any ads or commercials, they have no radio play at all, nor do they have any video play on MTV or any major music network for that matter.
Saying that they are "the shit" is a serious understatement. :D

Wow, gotta download me some ICP, what ones do you reccomend the most? wow.gif

I've been a diehard juggalo for the past 3 years, I'm away of their greatness :)

song wise, it matters on what style you prefer.  Their newer stuff has more of a rock feel to it, and the older stuff has more of rap feel.  My personal favorite cd is riddlebox, with great milenko at a close second.

If you're looking for just some good individual songs, Fuck the World, Echo Side, rainbows and stuff, behind the paint, please don't hate me, my axe, if, Lets go all the way, wizard of the hood, your rebel flag (God I love that...  FUCK YOUR REBEL FLAG!! ), santa's a fat bitch, witching hour, mr. johnson's head (headhunta'z remix), chicken huntin', ol' evil eye, southwest song, love song, another love song, i want my shit, nothing left, southwest voodoo, boogie woogie woo, ninja, when I get out, every holloween, moms (great mother's day song, really), sleep walker, and a few others (all the names are the names of songs.  just search on morpheus or the like for "icp <name of song>")

There's also other bands closely related to icp, such as twiztid, dark lotus, psychopathic rydaz, perpetual hype engine, zug izland (pronounced "island"), blaze, myzery, and a couple others.

As you can tell...  I'm a huge fan :)

and a lot of Robert Miles.

Robert Miles rules. A guy I don't talk to anymore (loooong story) burned me "Robert Miles - 23 AM" and it rocks. Only thing is I don't really want to listen to the cd because he burned it and he's such an a$$hole that I don't want to admit anything good ever came from him. Complicated thing...
