LiNeY is a true Lady of Detnet, and as such deserves recognition for it. Once the rest of you have proved you can live up to a title, such as Spydir here, you might have a snowball's chance in hell or better of getting said title.

At what point exactly do you become a detvet, i'm not just saying this cos I want a custom title (that really doesn't bother me, i'm happy being leet hoxer when I actually know sweet FA) but I guess it's not down to post count cos that would be silly.Ck would be emperor of detnet or something... But I would like to say, though a bit late. Congrats to Liney on her title sorry should that be Lady Liney, also spydir... I don't know what to say about spydir, congrats I guess people really do have a habit of sucking.

It was me, and if everybody had a custom title then it wouldn't be anything special. BTW, if you want to be unique that's what the custom sigs are for. Maybe we should do a custom title after so many posts. What should the count be?

oh! let's have a bunch of christian losers sue us and call it the "700 club" and have it so once "donate" either x amount of hooker money... err... posts you get one, or if you donate good ones you get one. so like... 700 flat our crap posts you get one (like me), and... 300 good posts (liney). Orrrrr... we could just have a survivor thing each week. the admins decide on 9 people, and start a poll. people vote for who gets one, and who ever has the most by the end of the business week (5 days) gets it. then the other 2 days are for a poll to decide what it'll be.

There _is_ an option in ikonboard to allow members to choose their title after {x} posts ... thing is it makes it less of a novelty. . .I think it should be down to admins to do when they're drunk, but that's my drunkard idea.

I agree, I think it should be down to the admins, and better still the admins shouldn't tell anyone that they have changed it or what it has been changed to, that way it's a big humorous surprise for everyone.As long as it's not hugely offensive but it's also funny I don't thing anyone would mind.

You know, I'm not really that concerned with getting my VERY own custom title (even though I wouldn't bitch if I ended up w/one). I'm just not fond of the "l33t hax0r" title. With as many funny comments that come from our detnet leaders, I would think that something more cleaver could be thought up.Just my 2cents on the subject.

I agree, 1337 H0x3r although a good title doesn't necessarilly apply, I don't know what reason PTLady has for disliking it but I feel like a fraud cause I'm really not 1337, but i'm not a n00b13 either, so I don't really know.
At the end of the day I hadn't really payed attention to them until tis thread came up so i'm not at all bothered. I do think it would be silly to just give special unique ones to anyone just cos they ask. You should definatly have to earn it some how, and I don't mean through posting (post count) cos that's to easy.
Like someone said, if you want to be unique that's what your sig is for but to be special and have a unique title you shoud have to really impress the admins or something.

Heya,I quite like the idea of re-vamping the title system a little. I'm not sure of the number of levels there are, so there may be an extra title or two in here, but how about:
Newbie
( I can't come up with a decent one for this slot)
Regular
DetVet
or (my preferred version)
Underage
Patron
Drunk
Bouncer
Barman
or something similar..

I deeply regret ever reading this thread and then jumping in head first into title changes.....It's been 24 hrs but things are quieting down now. If anybody's still listed as "guest" just let me know. I'm fixing them one at a time, by hand. I've not yet learned how to get people out of the "intern" status, but I did knock the # of posts for "intern" down to TEN. Above that, you should be "detvet" as far as I can tell. Still jealous of the admin status? Bah.
BTW anyone notice a leetle teeny speed increase today?

I think it is a bit faster as well personally. It could be faster but couldn't all sites, it doesn't help that I am on dialup so everything seems slow to me anyway.
