Several of the detvets and I are gonna hook up in downtown LA Friday afternoon/evening. Are you in LA?

Tucson, Arizona. Around 8 hours away or so. I'd love to have a detnet con, and meet more than 1 person from this board. But, unfortuanetly, I'll be getting my brother from Phoenix and hanging out in Tucson for the weekend. If I knew more, I'd love to meet with a bunch of So-Cal detnetters and drink myself silly. Or, even, have them all come here, to my wonderfully nice apartment, and forget a weekend happening. I'm out in the boondocks, and would love to meet ya'll.

If I wasn't so damned afraid of driving on the highway I would totally be there. It would only take me a little over an hour. Another thing is I'm not old enough to drink yet, in September I will be though!

well, never fear. we can all plan something and pick a date, activity, etc. that would be better. then heaves can come, etc.
my suggestion is go eat somewhere and then hit a bar on sunset (namely saddleback, so we can get drunk and fuck with the mechanical bull...also tiki bar and burgandy room, etc etc)

Hawaii is sounding real good! That would be about as far as Incubus can travel without going all the way around the world, though!

I think the problem a few of us would have is that we're under 18, unemployed (no $$$ to go places), and/or to damned lazy to do anything. I'd like to meet a few of you, but then that could kill the general idea I have of all of you. Like I imagine heaves to have some inteligent sounding voice, kinna scratchy, but I could imagine meeting him and he sounds like a 14 year old boy or something.So yeah, fuck that shit. A detnetcon sounds like fun, but I don't imagine any huge one. 14-15 people, max, would show up for one. Just my 2 cents. But we'll make them canadian cents so they're worth a little more.

maybe if said detnetcon was in a centralized location it might be easyier to get to. say like kansas city or like denver or something but to have it in L.A? that makes all of us midwestern/easterns/southerners unhappy.

Anybody want to build a world map that we can attach pins to showing where we are? Even if it had nothing to do with get togethers, it would be a fun exercise. 
Maybe make different colored pins showing how senior an individual is, and therefore more important
Then, you would have a good measure, visually, of where the perfect party should be.

Bah! Total ass. I don't think ANY DetNetters are near me. I'm not sure where Nikita and CatKnight are but it sounds like I'm closer to them than anyone else. Does ANYONE reside in the MidSouth on these boards besides me?
I'm QUITE sure I'm the only Memphian but does no one live even near here though?
This makes me quite the sad. I can at LEAST meet w/a few people who post on the other board I'm on but the big meeting they have planned is nearer to you I believe, Mr. Editor-Man, in Las Vegas. That's just WAY too far.

memphis is about 14 hours from us. kinda a long drive, but doable. I know slate is in NJ, and kuru is in NY, I'm sure there are plenty of other detnetters on the east coast.

Yes, by comparison to about 30+ hrs, 14 is doable. If we were to put together an East Coastish event somewhere pretty neutral to the majority (and planned far enough in advance) then we might could swing that. IF that sounds like something worth doing for those on our side of the country.

Incubus, can you unpin that thread? I've looked thru the options and the ones I found seemed a little drastic, like re-ordering the entire forums. I'm not quite ready for that. I'll be checking again, fer sher, but later.
Methinks we're going to have to take a detcon more seriously in the future, there's a lot of enthusiasm for the idea.
Oh, Incubus, could we have access to the detnet skin and logo? Too much work went into that to let it go....and we gotta get new smilies!
