Great thread.

Well, if I have to pick one...it would have to be Cymbaline.

But, in any case, I absolutely adore:

Bike
Scarecrow
Ibiza Bar
Flaming
Green is the Colour

The Catherine Wheel does a great "Wish You Were Here." Fear the harmonica ownage.

(Dream Theater also nailed "Hey You;" all must worship LaBrie)

I've always been a fan of Dark Side of the Moon, so I have to say Us and Them, tho Wish you Were Here is excellent.

Dream Theatre is awesome too.. they, if anyone, can pull off Floyd very well. I had the pleasure of seeing Petrucci in concert, very very nice.

How old ARE you then?  You make that sound like "20" was decades ago.

Oh, and Wish You Were Here.  Floyd is such GREAT laid back music. *sigh*

aaagggggghhhhh, sorry but I just realised how scary pickle therapy lasy's avatar is. Jesus don't do that too me I fell off my chair.

Greenday are great when they occasionally calm down for a song, for example good ridance adn macy's day parade are the most relaxing songs I know, I just love Good ridance it makes me want to smile and cry at the same time... Madness!

So, So you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell
Blue skys from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail
A smile from a veil
Do you think you can tell
And did they get you to trade,
Your heroes for ghosts
Hot ashes for trees
Hot air for a cool breeze
Cold comfort for chains
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage

How I wish, How I wish you were here,
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found
Same old fears
Wish you were here

Definitely one of the top five rock ballads of all time :)

Well, I'd have to say, for my fav songs,  "The Final Cut" and "What  Shall We Do Now". But alas they didn't make it into the poll, so it'd have to be "Shine On", the greatest piece of guitar solo ever made.  :)

Btw, it intrigued me about that detnet fellow who said he "grew out of Pink Floyd". You don't grow out of a great band, with both great instrumentals and great lyrics. PF is my fav band ever, but I don't listen to it all the time. I alter between other great bands/artists, like Dylan for instance. It's making me wonder what you're into now...

Oh, btw, hi all. This is my first post. :)
(I've been coming here for years, specially the detonate website, but never got much driven into posting. Floyd was just the excuse I needed. =)
