I see 2 options..
1) I kill these forums.
2) We use these and incubus locks those, to be used as an archive only...

Well ... not my call. I just wanted the old forums back!I'm happy to just use these ... if someone can skin them back to the old format it would be the same. Does anyone fancy the task?
Anyway as this is hosted on the servers at my work I'm staying impartial ... I just like the security that I'm sat 25 feet from the server that this is running on.

I don't know how the SL works atm, yes that means I can't get in, either.

[EDIT]-I just noticed that this one has all our old posts counts plus it has avatars, and all the cool features of ikonboard. I think I will use this one as default.

I also think we should stick with the forums here. Certainly a lot quicker to make references to earlier stuff when it's all here.

Well the detnet skin kinda works. Its in the user control panel. But it doesnt change the posts you are viewing, only the boxes where you are entering information. The background around the box you are using still stays white and makes it all look like wet ass on a hot day. But its a start.

I'll reskin the forums if you'd like...I've got some experience with skinning iB. More than anyone else here, I think. At nay rate, I've got one more final...but when I'm done (tomorrow nightish) I cna crank out a detnet simulation skin if you'd like. Graphics is sort of my thing...

Try just logging in with the same username/password as on the original detnet -- I think the usernames were imported along with all the posts.

just wanted to point out that i heard ikonboard can't handle a large load of users on the board, and results in errors in threads. unless this is an updated version, this big ass community is gonna be all messed up... or i could be talking out of my ass.. who knows.

WTF happened while I was gone for two days. I say that the boards get started over. Sometimes you just gotta scratch the drive and re-install everything ...it's the only way to be sure. This way we start with a clean database maybe a modified interface and a chance for the past to stay past. The future is not set. We can make it anything.But keep the old locked threads around so we don't forget why syf is such a t00l.

i will go with slates if it will be skinned like 'da original detnet. too much white is embedding too many photons in my skull!

Have you tried the detnet skin? Go to your control panel/account options iirc. It's almost better than the original!
