I recently took an IQ test. Something I'v allways wanted to do.And I just had to tell you all. My IQ is 132. I want to do it again in a couple of years time and see if it's any higher (heres hoping!). Anyway the site I did the test is < IQtest >

I severely doubt the accuracy of online IQ tests. Why? I got a 146! I don't think I'm that good. I should be around 120 by my own estimation.

134 but i dont really belive it
Posted by LazyGit on Oct. 01 2000,12:55
Yeah, you can probably take 20 points off those IQ tests. The only one I've taken gave me 152 and I'm not THAT smart.cheers Posted by incubus on Oct. 01 2000,12:59
135, apparently < http://www.iqtest.com/view/iqtest/options/001001/9704123723073 > ------------------ -- incubus As I chase the leaves like the words I never find ... This message has been edited by incubus on October 01, 2000 at 08:00 AM Posted by incubus on Oct. 01 2000,13:01
LazyGit, im from sheffield too ... do I know you? lol------------------ Posted by incubus on Oct. 01 2000,13:05
If the test's directions were accurately followed and the questions were answered as fast as possible, the test you just took usually yields scores that are within 5 points of the professional tests--a remarkable feat for a 13 minute test. Posted by Hellraiser on Oct. 01 2000,13:48
This topic was already covered in this thread: < http://www.detonate.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000125.html > Where I posted my own IQ results. Posted by PersonGuy on Oct. 01 2000,15:29
Actually, all my teachers in Preschool and Kindergarden deemed me a genious when I was SUPER a head of the 2nd graders and made me take and IQ test (the real kind... not online). I ended up getting somewhere around 150 (I'll have to get the paper work on that).Any way, I'd LOVE to be modest, but I DO feel smart! Hehe, not like "I 0wn j00" smart, but like I figure out stuff and learn things and solve puzzles pretty quickly. Always got the wheels turnin... I never took notes or studied for a test ever, and I ended up with a 3.4 GPA... imagine if I actually challenged myself/cared! ------------------ Posted by Rhydant on Oct. 01 2000,16:29
damnit! i droped 3 points from last time137. blah, im no geniusos ------------------ Posted by SimplyModest on Oct. 01 2000,18:33
< http://www.thespark.com/iqtest > this is the best iqtest i think, its really accurate. its kinda long, but dont worry cause time isnt really a factor so just dig in. you DO have to give your email address, but it doesnt spam or anything... i think i got like a 117on it!, and i think thats really good, so if you got a bit of time, go try it out!

i'm lazy and i didn't click to the other thread, but the last time my iq was actually measured by a psychologist, it was 156.since then i've been too afraid to test myself again since i figure all my beer drinking has lowered it a few points and i really don't want to know what it is right now..... and i no longer care what it is. i'm smart, i know i'm smart, and i'm happy with that ------------------ Posted by DuSTman on Oct. 01 2000,20:45

142 but that was in 8th grade
Posted by DuSTman on Oct. 01 2000,20:58
I give up on that test. Nevertheless, my iq is a bit odd. One test i did (www.iqtest.com) gave me 159 and another gave me 110.. However, i'm more inclined to believe the 159 number because, well, my mind has managed to prove itself much better than average on occasions.. However, in some ways i'm a bit slow.. I should probably look for a professional test.. Posted by Sithiee on Oct. 01 2000,21:37
thespark.com test is a joke, whether intentional or not, it is. IQ measures your intelligence. that test measured your knowledge. those are two very separate things. i may be the smartest person in the world, but that wouldnt guarantee i knew how long a mile was.
Posted by Hellraiser on Oct. 01 2000,21:45
Actually, it doesn't test your knowledge at all. Since it doesn't grade you on what you got right or not. The idea of the test is to see how long you take it, that's all. I figured out that it was bogus early on, so I stopped it. I checked my mail an hour later, and it says I have an IQ of 130. So I figured what the heck, and took the test again using a different email. I didn't answer any of the questions, and kept clicking the onward button untill I got to page 120 of the test. Sure enough, it says I have an IQ of 80. The idea is that if you think you're so smart, you probably will get a low score, whereas people of mid intelligence who are just doing it for the heck of it catch on soon and stop it before they make a fool of themselves. Not exactly a good measure of intelligence, rather a measure of vanity.------------------ Posted by Sithiee on Oct. 01 2000,21:46
ok, i just got the email from thespark.com, confirming it is a joke. it gave me a 140, and i answered a total of 2 questions. i stopped and started looking through some of the questions, and then closed it. it said in the email "your stupidity is based solely on how long you take on the test" i.e. i spent about 3 minutes looking at it, and so i got a higher score. it said some dumbass got 9,000 somethin questions through, and recieved the lowest score they had. then gave his e-mail adress...but i found that humorous, simplymodest, did you know it was a joke? if you did, kudos man...

IQTest.com : 130.TheSpark.com : What the fuck is this crap? Professional IQ tests : 148-155 Some of the questions on the first site were ambiguous, so that "true" and "false" were BOTH correct answers. I'm sure the people who wrote the test think that there was really only one correct answer, you just have to be clever enough to figure it out, but consider this from the IQTest site : "The second vowel used in this sentence is E." It could be E, or it could be O, depending on what you think they mean by "used." It depends on context, and no extra context information is provided. There is NO CORRECT ANSWER to that one. REAL IQ tests avoid that kind of ambiguity. Anyway, this site was trying to SELL something... I'm always wary of that. Posted by pengu1nn on Oct. 02 2000,13:39
1 got a 141 @iqtest.com

I took a lame (30 question?) IQ test my sophomore year of high school. It said that my IQ was like 170... I don't believe it for a second because I'm not all that bright. Plus, the test was totally geared for someone who was about to enter computer engineering.

I've done a bunch of IQ tests on the web, i usually get between 140 and 190 so i know they are all pretty crap. anyways check out < mensa.com > i think they have some iq tests lying around that at least have some claim to legitimacy.regards, reman ------------------ Posted by Lordbrandon on Oct. 03 2000,06:19
after all the drugs i took in highschool id probably get an 89
Posted by RenegadeSnark on Oct. 04 2000,21:21
145
Posted by nautilus on Oct. 05 2000,05:26
According to iqtest.com, 142, which sounds fairly accurate. I don't think I was ever given my IQ based on my entrance tests for the gifted program when I was in grade school, but that sounds about right.

I got a 163 on the IQTest thing...I took the 'real' IQ test leaving the military as part of the transition phase and scored a 136 or 138... Can't remember for certain. ------------------ Posted by askheaves on Oct. 05 2000,05:55
147... yeah. Like damien said, a lot of this test could go either way. I had problems with the same questions. The worst part is the absence of feedback to tell you whether the answer should be one way or the other... damn frustrating. I'll put my faith in a real IQ test sometime, not a "click true or false if you understand this question?" type test.
