Last night before I went to this club-rave thing I took a coupla caffiene pills...over the course of the day I took a little under 1700mg. For those of you who don't know, the average up of coffee has 100mg. So anyway, this was real superfun for the first three hours or so of dancing. But then my body caught the flak for me not taking these with a meal. I got hardcore sick and threw up twice at the club (this huge black dude didn't believe me that I hadn't taken something illegal) and when I got home I hurled another 4 times.

This was the worst sickness i've ever had in my entire life. For three hours, every time I closed my eyes I was back at the party...I could see everything fine and hear the music fine. The real problem was that I didn't even realize it for the first TWO HOURS. Then I started thinking, "Hey, how come i'm still here? I went home and got sick some more. Wtf?" At this point i opened my eyes and I was in my room. It all came back right after I closed them again. It felt like I was all hollowed out, just a head with shoulders and arms mounted on a spine with a pair of legs on the bottom. It was horrid. I'd gotten home at 1:30 and couldn't begin to fall asleep until 10am.

Let this be a lesson to everyone -- don't fucking OD on shitty yellow jacket caffiene pills! They are evil! Ugh, I need sleep.

yellow jackets are caffine pills? i thought they were fat burners like stacker 2's, probably has caffine in them anyway

those were probably amphetamines not caffeine pills. or possibly even meth. but anyway, 1700 mg of caffine at one time is fucking rediculous, man! what were you thinking? you're lucky your heart didn't explode or something.

Caffeine as a such is not harmful, but you shouldn't OD on it! Would you drink 17 cups of strong coffee in some hours? I bet you wouldn't. (I consider myself someone who drinks coffee in quite a large amount, but with more than 10 cups a day, I'd get sick, too!)
Besides, if you think you need caffeine, drink coffee. Pills always have other stuffs mixed in them (legally or illegally), and then, as you experienced, swallowing them without food or fluid makes you REALLY sick. The coffee ensures that there is at least some fluid coming into your body...

Btw, thanks for the warning... next time I wish I'd have those pills, I'll remember your story.

my friend has this pure pepper pill today during lunchtime that he brought with him.

it was amusing to watch him hack and cough and then suck on a piece of a tomato.

i can easily put down 10 to 15 cups of coffee or tea in a day.

caffeine itself has never made me sick like that. i gotta wonder what else was in those pills.

From memory:

The level of caffiene considered overdose is about 750mg. Expect 100-150mg in a standard cup of coffee. 1700mg is still an overdose, but it's nowhere near lethal. 10,000mg (yes, 10g) is a lethal dose. It's not feasible to reach that amount.

Overdose symptoms are usually cold sweats, severe nausea, lack of coordination, trembling and weak muscles, tunnel vision, general dissociation from reality, confusion, hallucinations, and possibly unconsciousness... depending on the severity of the overdose.

Worse I've felt was after 4 Brugers mugs of coffee... so, about 8 cups in 1 hour. I lasted great for about 2 hours, then I collapsed on a table with cold sweats and nausea. I didn't really realize that class had ended for a while.

The most I've had was 14 cups in around an hour and a half. Was having a contest with a friend. We both weren't doing well afterwards, and we really had the most problems from drinking 14 cups of a diuretic.

I think you had a lot of caffeine. I don't think you had any other problems. I just hope you realize how nasty even a tame drug can be to you when out of hand... before you move up to hard drugs... like pixie sticks.

LOL I got dragged to a rave once. Dumbasses laying all over the place, others dancing around with their dumbass tennis hats sideways and glosticks. Sorry just had to say that

For about the last half of the school year, I'd carry around a 2-liter of highly caffinated soda, drinking out of it when I got the chance (it was funny. Kid's would bang their 16-oz's on the table... I'd whip out the biggums, and put 'em to shame!). I'd knock one out in a day. When I got home, I'd grab another from the pantry, go through that in about an hour. Then I'd make random trips to the kitchen for a cup of whatever was in the fridge, ending the day with at least a 12-oz of some soda.

This was a daily basis. That doesn't include the random trips to starbucks or other coffee shops, or the ammounts of candy or sugary products I'd eat every so often.

anyways, aside from my addictions and fucked up nature of being, caffine pills aren't even a cheap thrill. Don't trust them. As a few have said, they can have other shit in them, and more then likely do. If you're gonna try to get "stoked" for a rave, do something illegal.

i tend to keep away from caffine when ever possible.
i get all jittery and make myself look like an ass in front of people. and im already sorta lame because i do things at random without thinking.
and coffee is uhm... not great. i dont know why people drike the stuff.

Well, there were a few reasons I took caffiene pills.

1. The guy i went with wasn't really into drugs and I didn't want to make him feel weird by like, rolling or something

2. I enjoy going to parties like that for the music, getting fucked once and a while is fun and everything, but I don't want to get into illegal shit hardcore. They can be fun, but it's illegal for a reason. (see the acid thread)

Heaves -- that sounds pretty accurate to me. I guess it's just kinda ironic because in the aforementioned acid thread I was advocating responsible use of illegal substances and educating yourself beforehand, but I didn't even think about regular old caffiene. I can honestly say that I learned my lesson though.

I should also comment that raves are real easy to make fun of and before i started going to them, I hated even the idea. Well, the whole idea behind them is to leave behind and let go all of the shit of your everyday life. Anyone who goes regularly will tell you the same thing, and that's why you never see one raver making fun of another who's dancing, no matter how shitty they may be. They're letting go and enjoying themselves. (This should be another topic though)

I dunno about in the U.S., but here you can buy caffine pills over the counter...So, there's no "mixed shit" or whatever in them...

caffeine pills are widely available in the US, under a wide variety of brand names. The most common are No-Doz and Vivarin.

Overdosing on caffeine totally sux0rs. Once upon a time, I went to Starbucks where my buddy was working. I asked him for the largest cup of iced coffee I could get. Instead, without telling me, he filled the thing with espresso. I drank it down and went to a party. Within half an hour I was flushed and trembling... things were vibrating... I totally panicked, ran into the backyard and threw up. I had no coordination - it took everything I had to drag myself into my buddy's bedroom and lie down. What really sucked is that everyone thought I was drunk, so they were laughing at me... not a good thing to happen to you when you're strung out & ultra-paranoid...
