People are funny; everyone is so damn closed minded. Most people either listen to metal, rap or punk or some other specific genre, Me on the other hand, I listen to everything. Usually I listen to rap, but then again I listen to metal allot, and allot of tech.If someone asks what my favorite artist is I usually can’t answer, it changes so damn often. If I tell a metalhead that I like eminem or ice cube or dodi or moby they will tell me what an idiot I am, I'm not, I like allot of different music. Shut the fuck up. cr0bar, what kinds of music do you like? How about the rest of you? Unlike that asshole Zac I wont call you an idiot if I disagree. ------------------ Posted by renegade on Jun. 16 2000,21:26
i like all music...except lite rock and gangasta rap, just because i dont...

I listen to everything...except jazz, and country. The rest is fine. My girlfriend even took me to see an opera once too...she was quite amazed that actually liked it. But blues is what I hear the most. Especially Stevie Ray Vaughan, has some exceptional guitar play. I can only dream of playing that good...

i like stuff that doesnt get obnoxious, like this trend with heavy metal is getting on my nerves because my best friend is so fucking trendy (he was in on ska when it became trendy a few years ago) but it pisses me off cause when i wanna relax a little when hes giving me a ride, i cant cause the music is so fucking loud and bad. i also dislike country because its just some losers complaining about wussy problems. gangsta rap is also dumb, cause theyre taking everything too seriously. most other stuff i dont really mind...i know it doesnt seem like it, but im actually pretty open when it comes to music.note: dont flame me, all the stuff above is IMO, so deal. Usually people who say this only have a rather shallow interest in music, but I find profound meaning in all music. Admittedly, you won't find me claiming this about most "pop" (Britney Spears, N'Sync, etc), but as far as the "genres" go (Classical, Rap, Techno, Trance, Rock, Metal, Jazz, etc), I enjoy them all.One of these days I'll post up a list of my entire music archive so everyone can nod their heads in approval, or recoil in disgust. Music zealots bother me too: more than once I've 'hated' an artist only to buy their album a few months later. ------------------ Posted by Dan on Jun. 17 2000,01:04
Buying albums, I remember those days.

pop isnt a genre, its marketing and pyschology gone horribly horribly berzerk...imho... Posted by SLATE on Jun. 17 2000,02:03
this thread reminds me an aweful lot of another...but i like to say to people, when they tell me RAGE sucks or something that rage does not suck, but in fact, rage is just not to there tase.. thats how i look at music.. like limp bizkit, i dont like them.. that doesnt make them bad, but i think they suck.. but once again, thats me, not you ------------------ http://www.the-streets.net modellers needed!!! Personaly, I cant stand the rage. They keep bitching about oppression in california, what oppression? THey are total fools. but they are talented musicians and there music sounds good, the only reason i dont listen to them is because of what they stand for: pathetic little anti-American movments that meen nothing to me. Fuck them and there upsidedown flag logo thingie.

If he was arrested he deserved it, I have confidence in the law... Unless you can prove otherwise, which you cant... I would go read up but I'm to lazy.

confidence in the law? haven't you ever seen the fugitive? joke...sleep now in the fire has a badass intro. the rest of it is pretty decent, too. i don't judge an artist for what they stand for, i judge them on how much i like it. if one of the pop groups made a song i really liked, i'd listen to it. 'til then i'll just bitch about them. ------------------ Posted by Sithiee on Jun. 17 2000,15:35
yeah really, i dont care what a band stands for....well maybe if they were like "go KKK" i probably wouldnt listen to them, but if theyre trying to free the world of oppression, and theyre trying to make america better, whats wrong with that?

thanks for the supportive backing.. Personally, I believe in many of the things RAGE stand for, but not all of them. I don't know the truth to this, but according to them, there is a civil war being fought in Mexico and the US government and media is masking it from us. Now if thats true, is that a good thing? I don't think so...Anyways, the mumbling will stop now ------------------ http://www.the-streets.net modellers needed!!! Posted by PersonGuy on Jun. 17 2000,16:06
I'm pretty varied in what I listen to. I think almost every genre (jazz, blues, classical, disco, dance, rap, hip-hop, rock, heavy metal, R&B) has it's own function. My favorite artists are usually the ones who take a unique twist on an old genre. Also I like alot of emotion in music.I'm not a huge fan of Rage, but I love how they've taken great guitar rifs and put it to a SLOW tempo. Pretty much I go for electronic music though (dance, trance, dream, acid, scratch, jungle, techno). Underworld is my favorite band (sadly they're splitting up). Of course I like Bass Trip, Orbital, The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Space Raiders, Phunky Data, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold, Robert Miles, Mu-ziq, BT, etc. ------------------ |
