OK, there's a short story behind this--I am involved in the community theater, and therefore am exposed to some of the stranger elements of society (you detnetters think you're strange?? HA). One of them showed up after the end of my play the other night, decked out in Full Cassanova Regalia, complete with snake jewelry, bare midriff, white linen, everything. It turns out that she actually went to prom in that getup, and then got thrown out for "exotic dancing".

I would've paid money to see what she was doing on that dance floor.

naah I wouldn't, coz they wouldn't let me in... Catholic High School... I mean, my headmistress would probably be shocked at the sight of the red lipstick!

I'm not finishing school yet this summer, but our senior class makes a pretty big prom (with parents, teachers, siblings, friends etc.) and as I have a lot of friends in that year, I have finally been talked into going...

Now I am facing a very "grave" problem: what the hell should I wear? There are 3 possibilities and I have no idea which one to choose... if I had a guy accompanying me, I'd simply ask him, but as I go alone, I'd like to have the advice of you detnet guys.

So, what do you think would look cutest on me?
1. long black dress, shoulderfree, neckholder strap
2. long silver-grey dress, spag straps, more or less bare back, very movie-queen like looking
3. long light green dress with red roses (from my mom)

Give me your vote please!

Well I can't post pics because I don't have a scanner, and besides there are no really good pics of me wearing those dresses...

I tried on the green one (#3) and it looks kinda weird... like 1970's retro style and I feel really strange in it - and I look like my own mom!

great. that is the advice I need... facing a similar problem here. I don't mind wearing skirts and dresses, but I hate dressing up like a model... it makes me feel like a plastic Barbie doll.

Frosty: the thread was "what's wrong with the guys" or something like that.

solid: #3 is light green, with pink/red roses printed on it. It is long, rather ample, and looks kinda retro-ish. It is not the sexiest dress imaginable, rather of the "nice-little-girl" kind. And it does not fit me too well, neither is it my style. But it is kinda nice...
