i was just wondering if anyone here actually plays this game. ive been thinking about getting it and actually paying the 10 bucks a month for online-play (its summer, i got time!) i think ive got the game basics down, but any help or advice for a beginner would be helpful.

I played the game for about 2 months and then got kinda bored of it. The main problem with it is that it's not a single person game. You have to be in a group. The graphics and gameplay are cool. It's just finding people that are on at the same time. Best with people you know. Ultima Online has more freedom and is based not on a group but you yourself. I personally am waiting for UO2 to come out before I think about doing the whole thing over again.

I was on an internet cafe some weeks ago. Lot's of people was playing it. One of them had played for 3 days straight, I shit you not. When he was told to go home and sleep, he went into spasms as he got up. They had to call an ambulance and get him to the hospital. I don't want to play that game. It must be too addictive

There is a point to where you say someone is addicted but I don't think that is the word for that person. He's crossed over that line many times.

Online games are very addictive, especially ones in which your property is vulnerable when you arent there. I remember plaing Meridian 59 for almost 2 days straight one time. When I finally had to sleep, all i was thinkign about was "no from my guild is online...someone could be sneaking into our fortess right now.."

They're fun, but far too immersive and involving if you want to do anything else besides play them 24/7.

i'm waiting on diablo 2 to come out. it went gold a few days ago, so it's supposed to be out by the end of the month. i have the gamespot stress test and it was pretty cool. it was just the barbarian and only had three levels, but i still played until i was a level 12. i dunno though, i've seen a lot of good things about ground control, too. and i've always had a penchant for rts (a la total annihilation...)

as for evercrack, i know people that are addicted and i doubt that even the promise of sex could draw them away. that's bad.

i tested the diablo 2 beta as well. I though the multiplayer was weak... almost exactly like the first one. I played single player till the end, i'll get diablo2 just for the single player, but it's not ideally suited for anything other than that

I'm sorry guys, but if you're gonna go out and pay x amount of your currency for a game, then you are WILLING to pay another x amount of your currency per month just for the ability to play the game anyway.. then you're far more stupid than I give you credit for.

It's bad enough the games companies make the games like this, but its worse for the simple fact that people will do it and pay once for the game and make another payment every month just to play it.
