Topic: A Plea for VC

Hey, guys. I come asking a favor. The company I work for has run into difficulty finding venture capital recently. The issue that nobody wants to invest in software combined with the lack of resources (and some experience) is making it tough for our CEO to find money to get our product to commercialization.

The product we're working on is a system for the real estate industry that eliminates a large portion of the paperwork involved in buying/selling/refinancing houses. It uses open standards and an open platform to allow a hell of a lot of flexibility. This isn't some stupid .com company with a revenue model based on advertising, or something. We build our cost into the closing costs of a house and are payed by an escrow or settlement agent. The problem is that we're lost in the noise of all the other stupid companies who think people will buy dog food online.

So, what I ask is for any help finding contacts who would like to make an investment. We're targeting around Ūmillion to get to commercialization, including datacenter costs, marketing, development, etc.

If you can send me a private placement offering or a prospectus outlining your companies current financial state, what the money will be used for, and estimated future earnings I can hand it over to some of my VC guys. The tricky part is having the prospectus written so that complies with the legal aspects of asking for money, as the lawyers always get first crack at anything.

find some real estate companies that might want something like this. See if you can get a couple to give you portions of your 2 million

That's one of the difficulties we're running into. The CEO is VERY experienced in the real estate industry, and has a lot of contacts/ clout around town. Pretty much his name comes up when you talk about home loans. The difficulty is that he (and a partner) have a hard time distinguishing between sales and investments. We'd like to avoid getting money from real estate companies, because it would 1. make us indebted to them, 2. cause them to be able to steer development, 3. perhaps soil the possibility of other companies buying in.

As for Wiley, we have a business plan that should be just about done, including financials, etc. Pretty much everything you'd need to know. Just contact me. Within the week, it'll be ready to go out the door.

Why thank you, m1nus. I appreciate the gesture

However, I do appreciate all the posts bumping this topic back to the top. I've gotten some really good info from Wiley already, and I love that some of you have been very helpful. I'd love to keep the ideas/contacts rollings... since my paycheck depends on it.
