Yeah, anyways, < Trillian 0.7 > has been released. No more AIM for me. Or ICQ. Or mIRC.

Neat..

Edit>>
Just got this thing, works great. I have icq, yahoo, msn, aim, and irc all running too- it's a great solution. Though I almost never log on to yahoo or aim. Takes a bit of configuration and stuff to get it working right, but once it's over with- it's brilliant.

Looks cool.

[EDIT]- I just DLed it and it works ok. It doesn't give you all the fine contol of mIRC but it is ok.
btw my Conection Manager window is cutting out some info from view... kinda sux, i think i will stick with mIRC and ICQ.

You can resize the drawer, it just doesn't give you a resizing cursor. Just click and drag on the edge.

I switched over once it supported file transfers for ICQ. ICQ has just become too damn bloated and laden with ads.

I also prefer the Basics skins. It reminds me of an older time when chat clients were more streamlined and functional. I don't need PC-PC calling integrated. I have Netmeeting for that on the few occasions I need it.

been waiting for that new release forever and a half.

hehe, playing around with the window transparency is fun. I've been using tril since .62 it's great for a work in progress, and don't BS about ICQ being a work in progress, they only use the a/b thing as an excuse to not have to support it for shit. The one thing I really didn't like with this release was the emotisounds crap, definately gay.

Oh yeah, this new one is hot.

Enjoy!

I wonder if it will be friends with me?

And the rest, after a sudden wet thud, was silence.

The only time I gripe about a feature in such a program is when I can't disable it, like the ads in later ICQ versions (excluding the dll hack, of course).

I tried it, but I didn't like the smilies. Seriously. That's the only reason I'm not using it. The smilies are bad.

Well, ok, it's really because they don't have an "angel" one, and this girl I know really likes it (she goes by angel) and I'm just trying to get in her pants, so yeah. And if she ever reads this... the whole "getting in the pants" thing is a joke. I promise.

They do have an angel smiley. And if you are only sending it to real-AIM people, you can edit an xml file to fix it. A friend of mine was working on that very problem last night.

seeing I'm a blind, lazy bastard... think you could get your friend to send me that fixup?

Really, my problem is just that there's so damned many smilies, and for reason it wouldn't display both my icq and aim lists. I've tried older versions and it did it fine... I dunno, could have been a fluke on that run. I'll start it back up later, and hopefully get used to the different sound types...

Posted by TheTaxMan on Dec. 09 2001,22:52
Only works if you stick it in the disk drive.

You need to be running Win2k/XP.

Hey, this is nice!
I used trillian before, but I didn't like the interface or the lack of features, but this one is workin out great. I love the auto-logging, thats one thing I always liked about ICQ. Now I can free up what little HDD space I have. Thanks ASCII.

caseman... i don't get it... How does autologging allow you to free up space?
Posted by Resonant on Dec. 10 2001,09:04

Precisely. And the auto loggin dosnt take up as much space and all the history from ICQ.

ICQ is a bloated piece of shit that I've wasted brain cells remembering. A curse on them, their children, and their children's children.

For three months.
