why waste space and start a new thread? just curious as to why you didnt post this in the other enterprise thread.... Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 26 2001,02:29
because the other thread became totally off topic
Posted by Vigilante on Sep. 26 2001,02:40
Every thread goes totally off topic. No reason it can't be brought back.

i'm going with The Wiz as well.. there's nothing like a wasted hour and a half watching, who was it Fred Savage in that movie?, that i'll never recover for the rest of my life. ever.------------------ Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 26 2001,15:15
What are you talking about? The kid with the Nintendo Power glove was sooooo cool. Did any of you ever try to use that piece of shit? Also Vigilante, this thread = off topic. ------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing Posted by EvilGenius on Sep. 26 2001,15:32
dude, i had everything for regular nintendo... the glove, the punching screen thingy, the powerpad for the track games, i had two guns for duckhunt, one as a backup that i only played "Gotch" with.. (the red one)... had entire tv devoted just to the regular nintendo.. i thought i had a good investment. *blinking innocently* only now do i learn in my finance courses about dpereciation of useless items.------------------ Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 26 2001,19:39
this topic has gone horribly, horribly wrong

Are you kidding? Fun? I load up the emulator and play 8-Bit nintendo games, and I get bored in like 10 minutes. Can't imagine paying โ for those games. Now, โ for Max Payne, I can justify!

Back to the topic (for a second or two) Enterprise was really very good. The pilot was anywayz. Though if that Vulcan chick does become science officer, it kinda disagrees with Spock being the first Vulcan in Starfleet. Oh well....perhaps they'll put it in a Nitendo game. I wonder if there's any such thing as a moon made of green cheese?------------------ Posted by @$$h0l3 on Sep. 27 2001,00:23

Regular nintendo kicked ass...and it still kicks ass today..nothing like old school video games...so many classics...and the power pad was awesome.

CK: get yourself a real newsreader like Newsbin Pro or Forte Agent (www.forteinc.com). These programs will do the work of sorting, assembling, and decoding split RAR archives. Once you have them downloaded go to < http://www.winrar.com > and get you a copy of WinRAR to help you extract the archives. The resulting files should be either an mpg or a bin/cue combo in which case you use vcdgear to extract the mpg from the bin/cue.------------------ Posted by mqa on Sep. 27 2001,21:08
the guy who reports people to riaa is trying to find pirated tv shows... or is "i dont get upn" covered under fair use?
Posted by whiskey@throttle on Sep. 27 2001,21:21
Last time I checked, network TV was free.(imagine paying for the UPN. haha) Posted by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on Sep. 27 2001,21:35

pirated tv shows? that's the first time i've ever heard that term. maybe it applies to HBO...if you produce the shows and sell them for profit.
Posted by SLATE on Sep. 28 2001,00:24
TV is not free. It is paid for by advertisements. I'm assuming that the ripped shows DO NOT have the commercials in them. You are paying for TV, by buying products and services etc. Commercials in turn pay to get the show on the air and show off their good or service.

how the fudge do you download movies off of newsgroups...they are split into chunks of rar files at 400k each but when I open them they are just garbled text! do i just save the messages as .rxx files and then open them all? i can't even really find all of the files they are scattered around...
Posted by EvilGenius on Sep. 28 2001,15:42
the punching screen was a smaller boxy thing that stood up on a desk that you punched at while playing any of the newer boxing games...and you've guys got me in a real bind over this Battletoads v. TMNT thing.. both of those ruled... just call it a draw... the only game i play on my nesticle is Marble Madness... i play more games on my super nintendo emulator now that i got two USB controllers for the comp. i can play two-player Mario Kart! And hell, i might try and go download that first episode.. i didn't get to watch it either... i don't think there's anything wrong with pirating movies, etc... i'm iffy on the songs... but all the songs i download aren't copyright protected for the most part since those bands aren't really known but by the heavy metal community and they don't really care... woops, off topic.. /me thinks. ok, i don't really know what i was saying, so i'll stop here. ------------------ Posted by askheaves on Sep. 28 2001,17:31
Battletoads kicks so much more supreme ass than any ninja turtle could. Big friggin 5000 point boot of death!
Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 28 2001,23:12
ok i am using forte agent but there seems to be only 2 or 3 parts for each .rxx file there! ack!

Nintendo kid rocked. At the age of like 8 I used to imagine what I would do if I had a PAUSE button like he did. Seriously, I had a sick mind at a young age. You figure it out.--- Anyone ever play Faxanadu? Possibly one of the best Nintendo games ever. I must have spent MONTHS playing that game. --- TMNT rocked. Never heard of Battle Toads. What about Bucky O'Hare? Now HE was a bad ass. --- Oh, and whiskey = teh winnar! You dang whippersnappers... Atari 2600 was the mega-supa bomb of all time and will always remain so.Two words : Yars' Revenge. Posted by EvilGenius on Oct. 03 2001,15:29
i used to go make ramps with my friends so we could pretend were were the guy from Excite Bike. i totally digged the cheesy graphics... final fantasy, first zelda, and i think the two guys from Contra could kick everyone's ass... Ninja Gaiden guy would give them a run for their money too.. but then again, here comes that damned super-plane from 1942 bombing everything in sight, and you can't run as fast as the track stars did, so just pop's some pills like Dr. Mario and drift away into sweet bliss with barbie in her game, but oh no, claiming the dues from Contra were the best was too much for Battletoads and their Double Dragon friends they're gonna smash everything, until that damned PaperBoy bikes in with who else? TNMT! it's on... and as the fighting starts you make like Pac-Man and pop yet another pill... and if things couldn't get any worse, you wake up on the other side of the jousting pool from Poser Pete who's ready to Skate or Die, pop him with your blue stick, and off you skate not to T&C, but to over to Wayne's house, because however the hell he got his own game was just retarded, so after a good *schwing* you take off down the road... of course along the cars think their playing Super Dodge Ball, you take a wrong turn and land on Sesame Street, Big Bird RUSH N ATTACK's you from behind knocking you out... you awake on the Monopoly board, get sent to jail where that first Metroid guy busts you out... now you're the Lone Ranger grabbin everything you can find as a weapon, trying to hold as much as Lode Runner, all the Lemmings are marching in your direction, you have no other choice but to hide in some building, which turns out to be the Jeopardy building, you realize this theme of not being able to win.. then the building starts to come down on you like Klax and out you run... to the harbor you jump into the deep with Silent Service to go Duck Hunting, or NES Fishing.. banging your head on the periscope you awake in Castlevania, but you won't stay for long as DIck Tracy's standing by a Formula 1 (since you're built to win), and now Donkey Kong is chasing you, afterall, these are The Days of Thunder... off into the sunset you ride with Felix in the seat with you... you feel a pulling towards the heavens, and fly like an eagle, F-15 Strike Eagle that is, and you suddenly wake back to the real mundane world and think, hmm.. it's Burgertime!------------------ Posted by EvilGenius on Oct. 03 2001,15:31
as for Atari 2600, the best game of all tiem was Beserker... why? i don't know.. but i used to play that shit for hours.. the Indiana Jones game was tough.. stupid yellow thing in the middle of the scren used to always kill me, or block me or soemthing like that.. hell, i can't remember...------------------ |
