i think that my favorite game of all time is Syndicate for PC. The persuedotron is the best thing, ever. where else can you get hordes of city dwellers to follow you, pick up weapons, and shoot at whatever you tell them to?

The first time I played Syndicate was while I was in Germany. It was awesome because everything was in german, but I was horrible at german, and the keyboards are all messed up there. It was a challenge, to say the least, and I haven't played it much sense. I have a copy around here somewhere... hmm...

No offense to anyone, but German keyboards are really annoying... I worked at Bayer a couple summers ago, and some of the big guys there have them, and they have a Win NT scheme that turns everything to German, God, that's annoying.
I mean, if you call for me to fix your goddam computer, can you a least get a fucking keyboard I can understand?

Syndicate certainly did rock. I loved that game.

X-com ate up hours and hours of my life in high school, but the greatest game _EVER_ was Ultima 4. My friends and i played that on our Commadore 64's for a whole year in elementary school :]

Ultima 4! Yes!!! I played that game endlessly on my first PC... 8MHz 8088, 640K of RAM, 20MB HDD, super-smooth EGA display (640x350x16 colors- back then it was the shit) on an ISA bus...

i think ff9 sucks compared to ff7 and ff8, the gameplay and storylines are so much more interesting

FF8 was good but nowhere near the quality of FF7. Now that had character devlopment and real depth to it. unofficially recognised as the only game ever that made you want to cry when a "certain" character died. oh you know you wanted to i know you wont admit it though.

aint played FF9 yet dont know when its coming out but looks the mutts nuts

ff7 has been the best out of all the ffs for the playstation. ff8 is nowhere near as good as 7 but its still better than 9

ff8 sucked. it had potential i suppose, but the fighting system was so whacked i didnt care. i didnt bother trying to finish it. i do have chrono cross though, and im enjoying it a lot.

Hmm....very well said, I agree...everyone automaically thinks that a higher number after the name makes it better. 7, to me at least, was far more entertaining. Also, the characters were much more likable. And don't even get me started with junctioning.

M'Kay, here's my opinion on this subject.

Final Fantasy IX is imo one of the best Final Fantasy games ever made, if not the best (I'm still trying to decide between it and FFVI :| ).

Before I discuss why, I'm gonna toss out this fact (Note I say *fact*). Final Fantasy VIII FUCKING SUCKED. It is not even considered a FF game to me. It was the worst travesty to ever infect a gaming series ever. This game was all story, with no gameplay whatsoever. Spending hours drawing magic from monsters is not fun at all. The only possible reason I would have to like this game is that the music was reasonably good (though not as good as other FF games) and it had GILGAMESH in it.

Anyway, back on topic. When I played FFIX, I had fun playing it. In fact, it was the first FF game since VI that I actually enjoyed playing. FFVII was a great game, but it quickly became kind of boring for me. It did have one of the best villians in it, (and best last boss music too. I could spam the lyrics but apparently darksol already knows them ). But it just wasn't as fun as I remember the games used to be.

FFIX was very fun. Never got boring for me. And to think I had just about given up on the series... Maybe I should go play all the games again (except 8) hehe.

i've just stumbled onto an appiphany (however you spell it)

FF7 amd FF9 rule because they are cool!!!

FF7 is the best in my opinion cos you get mr T with a chain gun on his arm and swearing lots of it more than the other lot and big tits in the fmv and a story that drags you in more deep than any of the others.

Its just got such a better cool factor about it

I think FFIX was the best installment of the series, as the previous two got away from the roots of the series. FFIX had a villain I could truly despise, unlike FFVIII, which was kind of scetchy and had no boss I could truly hate. If you haven't played FFIX yet, I suggest you do. It's nothing less than an experience. The best game ever, in my opinion.
