The car is an 81 VW Scirocco I got when I was 15 (7 or 8 years ago) and I've been slowly fixing it up ever since. Almost everything is new on it (except the paint) and I race it at the Battle of the Imports, San Diego street races, autocross, basically anywhere where they'll let me.

I saved up 񘓤 bucks last year and bought the turbo system in April, and just got the last parts of it a few weeks ago.
The kit was absolute SHIT. here are a few of the things I had to do:

I had to cut and reweld the downpipe to make it fit
Weld on a flange for the wastegate
Weld up a wastegate downpipe (without a tubing bender...)
make a copper manifold->turbo gasket
and a LOT of little things.

anyways, I'm happy it's done, running 5psi non-intercooled, and it's FUCKING QUICK. I love driving it, it will throw you back in your seat in 1st and 2nd gear. probably 160 or so horsepower now. The car came with 74. It weighs 2100 lbs.

ahem...I hate auto racing too, but not necessarily the people who do it. I used to race ppl off the line w/my truck. It's a '93 Ranger Splash, 4.0 V6. Pretty damn quick. I can take just about anything off the line (Mustang, Camaro, TA). Of course, anything much past "the line" and I'm toast, but hey, by then I back off and am like "it's cool." Heh, damn sports car "compensators." Heh.

Now I don't consider myself a big bad car guy yet. But I do know this, lowering a car is stupid to do unless you know exactly what you are doing and do it properly. Lowerig a car has all sorts of side effects that can increase wear and decrease safety. Perhaps one of the more knowledgable guys on here can explain this further.

You know if you were to put a lowering kit on your carburator you could pull 400 more joules out of your dilithium crystal. That will decrease your drag that will increase your horsepower to make more torque in your intake. but you have to change your computar to make more then 400 horsepowers. but make sure you torkalater is tight or something bad might happens;

Lowwering Kit - Cutting ones springs.

Performance Exsaust - 5" Tip, or if one is really a l33t b107ch a 3" inch exsaust system all the way to the 1" downpipe.

Turbo - The addition of decals (Mugen decals - 10Hp(+5 extra if the car is not Honda), Nizmo decals - 15Hp(+10 extra if not Nissan), Racing stripes (+30 Hp), Flames (+30 Hp), Type R emblem (+50 Hp).

Weight Reduction - Carbon fiber racing gauges.

Aerodynamic tweeking - บ,000 body kit conversions that weigh down the car and tunnel air into non-exsistant intercoolers and cold air intakes that aren't there. Also, 60 Pound triple tierd spoilers have been known to help acceleration.

Improving cornering capabilities - Negitive camber angle (see Lowwering Kit). Gold plated rims.

Improving Braking Characteristics - Painting the brake calipers. Euro brake lights.

Misc. - Underlighting improves visibility. Flashy things (multiple shifting lights), knobby things ("special" shifters), and useless gauges (such as a PSI sensor on a NA engine) tend to add to the reliability of the engine.
