COKE IS INEQUIVICALLY AND EMPIRACALLY BETTER

Is that a good enough vote.

Posted by StanVanDam on Feb. 24 2001,18:14
I haven't tasted Coke for a long time, cuz my skool only sells Pepsi products. But I used to think Coke was better, so that counts right? Heheh
Posted by Sithiee on Feb. 24 2001,18:16
I'm sorry, but your friend is right, all pepsi products are superior to the coca cola counter parts. coke vs pepsi? pepsi. mr pibb vs dr pepper? dr pepper. sprite vs mountain dew? mountain dew. just accept it, pepsi is far superior.

So it is very obvious that your school also puts crack cocaine in thier pepsi.

Posted by Vigilante on Feb. 24 2001,18:26
Hooray for Coke.

Sith, sprite vs mtn dew is an unfair comparison. It should be sprite vs 7up (which sprite wins hands-down), and mello yellow vs mtn dew (which mtn dew wins hands-down).

To make my opinions known on the rest of your list: coke vs pepsi = coke, mr pibb vs dr pepper = tie, both are revolting.

Posted by Bozeman on Feb. 24 2001,18:30
One more vote for Coke. Pepsi tastes like a cheap imitation.

Dr. Pepper AND Mr. Pibb burn your throat.

Mountain Dew and Sprite are not comparable, because Mountain dew is a "citrus" drink and Sprite is lemon-lime. Sierra Mist and Sprite are both lemon lime, and a direct comparison makes a lot more sense in this instance.

Diet ANYTHING is my bane. Curse the rich fool who invented aspartame!

Coke is best if you get it somewhere in the South (like Louisiana) where it's still made with real cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

COKE!!!

Coke is rich and tasty... there are literally dozens of flavors in there.

Pepsi is just a cheap knockoff. It's way too sweet and lacks the depth of character that is Coca-Cola.

wtf are you talking about its all bottled in the same place, atlanta georgia. they use the same ingrediants everywhere, corn syrup.

Posted by askheaves on Feb. 24 2001,19:19
I didn't like any colas until I was dying of thirst in Germany. I got a nice cold coke, and it was all over from there.

Coke is better alone, but it has to be really cold. Coke mixes better with almost everything. Pepsi is only really reasonable with Korbel, but Coke is still better.

Coke has more carbonation, and a bit of a vanilla flavor (vs. Pepsi's lemon-lime background taste). Also, you can etch boards with coke.

citrus != lemon-lime??? im sorry, i didnt know this. i still stick with my other comparisons, and although this one was unfair, i stick with it anyway.
Posted by jrh1406 on Feb. 24 2001,22:00
I definatly have to vote for Coke, pepsi tastes far too chemically for my tastes.

And Sithiee, Dr. Pepper is not a pepsi product, it's an independant product, served in Coke and Pepsi machines all over the place.

During passover you can get pure cane sugar coke which r0x0rs more than a van with jennifer aniston and tommy lee in it.

Posted by Sithiee on Feb. 24 2001,23:30
while technically your right, Dr Pepper is not owned by Pepsi, pepsi does make it, bottle it, and most likely gets a nice share of the profit for doing so.

edit: i wanted to add, i can serve anything in any machine i want. if you buy the machine, you can put anythign you want in it, like moose piss, or dog semen. when you pay your 1000 dollars or so for the machine, its yours to fill up however you wish.

overall, I say Pepsi. I like both equally, but I used to know this big time bitch that hated it, so kinna as a "fuck you bitch" I've had more of a liking for pepsi.

But I *hate* imatation shit! I had this thing called Dr. Topper once that was a knock off Dr. Pepper, and I swear I had a rash on my tounge for a week or something! the shit literally burned!

First off, it's not all bottled in Atlanta, Georgia. All of these types of products are bottled in different places all across the country. This is why you can get cans and bottles with promotions for your local amusement park/sports teams/etc. And Observer is right. I grew up in Baton Rouge, and there the Coke bottler uses cane sugar instead of corn syrup in making Coke. Sugar cane is a major crop for the state, and it's cheaper to use cane sugar than corn syrup (the opposite of why most bottlers don't use cane sugar).

As for the Dr. Pepper issue, it is an independent product, but is not bottled by the Pepsi bottlers everywhere. In Baton Rouge, Dr. Pepper is bottled by the Coca Cola bottler. We therefore had Dr. Pepper at all our McDonald's. A Dr. Pepper and McD's fries was one of my favorite things to get after a swim meet in h.s. for the sugar/carb recharge. I'm not sure how it is here in Pittsburgh, but since we don't have it at McDonald's here I suspect it's bottled by Pepsi (or else truly independently) here.

Anyway, back to the original point of this thread, COKE IS BETTER THAN PEPSI!!!

Posted by Neophyre on Feb. 25 2001,02:59
coke kicks ass
nice after taste too.
nothing better than getting home after school on a hot day and cracking open a nice cold refreshing can of coke. hits the spot!

pepsi.. ergh.. tastes like water mixed with sugar that has been left in the sun for a few days.

whats this bullshit with pepsi sponsoring schools? god, over here in the great land of oz, we have freedom of drink

btw, Dr Pepper tastes like cough medicine. not bad

Always Coca-Cola!

I was having an argument with a friend... We were bickering about what is better, Pepsi, or Coke? He bet me 20$ that I can't get 50 posts saying that Coke is better than Pepsi... help me out here!

Posted by LazyGit on Feb. 25 2001,05:40
If I ain't gettin' no cut, I ain't helpin'.

Might aswell though. Coke's da shit, Pepsi IS shit.
cheers

Posted by CatKnight on Feb. 25 2001,05:52
i like them both equally. coke is more syrupy and pepsi has more of a chemicaly taste. normally i prefer coke (you can count that vote if u like) but since being at school i have gotten to liking pepsi (becuase it's a pepsi subsidized school and they dont sell coke anywhere around here)
Posted by DuSTman on Feb. 25 2001,06:46
I prefer pepsi.. It's sweeter.

That said, the light versions of pepsi are far superior to their coke counterparts.. diet pepsi/ pepsi max both just totally piss all over diet coke, which just tastes like carbonated water to me...

Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Feb. 25 2001,08:06
Coke Is It.
Always Coca-Cola.

I can't believe no one has answered with those yet.

Coke, definately. Nothing better for burning the gunk out of your throat when you wake up in the middle of a dry hot night.

There's also a reason that you rarely hear, "I'll have a rum and Pepsi please." Or bourbon & pepsi, etc..

That's not what makes me say that Dr. Pepper is bottled by the Coke bottler in Baton Rouge. What leads me to that conclusion is having driven past the bottling plant there all the time, and it says "Coca-Cola" and "Dr. Pepper" right next to each other on the building. I can't recall what the cans say, cuz I haven't been at home in quite awhile, and haven't bought a can of Dr. Pepper there in even longer.

Go check out the Coke site: < http://www.coca-cola.com > and the Pepsi site: < http://www.pepsi.com >

They are not even comparable. Coke has a SWEET site...

yeah smart guy, the quality of a drink can be assessed by its website. for that matter, the quality of all products can be assessed by their websites. man, 30 years ago, how did people ever choose between anything??

From Pepsi Website:
On February 6, 2001, Britney excitedly announced her new relationship with Pepsi at the company’s headquarters in Purchase, New York.

“I’m a big fan of Pepsi products and Pepsi commercials,” said Britney to an enthusiastic crowd of Pepsi employees and their families. “My life and my career have been blessed. The chance to follow some of my heroes - some incredible performers - and create something new with the innovative people at Pepsi is very exciting for me.”

Britney said that she will begin work immediately on her very first Pepsi commercial, to be aired March 25 during the Academy Awards. She also announced that Pepsi will be co-sponsoring her worldwide concert tour that’s currently in the works.

Congratulations Britney and welcome to the Pepsi family!
