How can people say they suck? Technically, they have skills. They play instruments/sing/rap/mix very well. To me, their music is pretty creative, and I like the approach they take in not making the 'standard' rock song, ie. throwing a guitar solo in the middle just for the sake of it. There's a good variety between songs, and good variety within them. Hybrid Theory is generally a really good album, and they have the sales to prove it. And, from what I've seen, they really kick live.If you want a really fun song by them, download a copy of My December. It's not on any albums yet, but I really love it.

That's where you're wrong. The first thing I noticed when I heard Linkin Park was how asstastic their DJ was, along with their lame attempts at singing. I mean, how does anyone on the face of this planet think "One Step Closer" is a good song? It sounds like someone is beating an alleycat with a sock full of quarters.

I actually agree with you wholeheartedly about One Step Closer. That was the first song of theirs I heard, and I decided then that I didn't like them. I heard one of my coworker's sons was going to a Linkin Park concert, and it didn't even phase me. Then, a short while later, Points of Authority came on the air, and I liked that a little better. When I heard Crawling, I decided to find out what the fuss was about and downloaded a bunch of their stuff. When listening to that stuff, I really started liking their works.The thing that's starting to scare me is that some of their new stuff is leaking to the internet, and a lot of it really bites. I just know their next album will suck and it depresses me.

They sound like Limp Bizkit too much. Crazy Town, Papa Roach, they all sound the same. For some strange reason the idiots in the radio stations around here thought it would be cool to play the new Kid Rock song. Guess what, everyone that called says it sucks. He should just give it up and buy some shampoo and have Pamela Anderson wash his nappy ass head.------------------

that argument is totally bunk! look at britney spears, nsync, backdoorboys, etc. they all get insta-gold albums yet I highly doubt anyone here would claim they are good groups.

The difference is that those sales were guaranteed before the albums were even recorded. The media plan they had before hand was built specifically to get 12 year olds to buy the albums based on an image and repetition. Linkin Park was a group assembled by college buddies, put together demo tapes and stuff, and got a record deal. The songs came out on the radio well before they were spread noon-midnight on MTV. I personally think most of LP's videos suck ass. I had the album before I saw any of them though, and I had to download them. Just not enough tit-shots like a Brittany video.

I can't relate to any of the lyrics to all the other rock bands like Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Korn, etc.Linkin Park is, so far, the only rock band that I like.

The thing is, Korn and all these other thrash metal bands lack one thing: skill. Anyone can pick up a guitar (yes, anyone), hammer out powerchords, ocassionally strum a single string 'real fast,' and scream into the mic. Linkin Park is slightly better than that, but the still suffer from the same lack of original and interesting riffs.------------------

I like Linkin Park a lot more than Limp, Korn, Papa Roach. I think Korn sucks actually, and Papa Roach only has like 3 songs worth listening to. Linkin Park has a different sound than the rest, that guys has a good screaming voice, unlike all these other death/thrash metal bands where they're hitting every piece of the drum set at once and screaming shit into the mike. The song High Voltage by LP is pretty good, has a cool beat.
