I'm an anti-terrorist American, I have no problem with Muslims. I don't share their religious beliefs, and I don't approve of some of the fundamentalists rituals (female circumcision in particular) or the subjugation of women, but these seem to be changing and aren't necessarily tied to the Islamic faith.Many Americans are muslims, so to be anti-muslim american means you are against some of your fellow citizens. Thats just as wrong a sentiment as to be anti-jewish, or anti-christian, or anti-catholic, or anti hindu, or anti-wiccan or any other religious group. I also salute those who attended said ceremony. This is yet another horrible aspect of this tragedy. There were many international students of arab descent that were afraid to leave their homes earlier this week. It doesn't help that my town has a HUGE redneck/wt population.Hooray for ignorance! Morons... |
