I heard they took out that sweet shot of Spidey making a giant web between the Twin Towers to catch a chasing helecopter. I hope it makes it to the DVD, but what do you guys think about that? That would be like if they cut the Lobby Scene of the Matrix after Columbine.------------------ Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Sep. 13 2001,22:39
they're delaying a whole heck of a lot of films till next year cos of things like that.------------------ Posted by TheTaxMan on Sep. 14 2001,00:20
I dunno, but I bet less people would see it if the Towers were still in it.I bet you'd have people crying in the Theatre too. quote: This message has been edited by TheTaxMan on September 14, 2001 at 07:20 PM Posted by miNus on Sep. 14 2001,01:12
If there is ever made a WTC movie, I refuse to see it, unless it is a documentary.

Anything less than a documentary would be disrespecful to the dead in my opinion.------------------ Posted by Observer on Sep. 14 2001,01:24
I say the decision on whether or not to leave that shot in should be based on the time in which the story is set. If the story is set just far enough in the past, it could work.I don't know about others, but I personally would enjoy seeing the twin towers in a movie. It wouldn't disrespect the dead. It would let us remember a different time and escape. Isn't that what movies are all about anyway? ------------------ Posted by SLATE on Sep. 14 2001,01:31

People being enveloped by the explosion as a plane comes through a window into their office? People falling 90-100 stories to their deaths? Its NOT possible to make a movie of this sort. Damn. I watched that trailer again (I've got it) and when the big spread of the Towers showed up, it was chilling knowing that those aren't standing anymore.

right when i actually want to see the trailer to that movie, i can't. but it's true, i will never see any image of the twin towers (when they were standing) the same way again.I even saw the NY skyline this morning and it freaked me out. It looked mostly flat except for a few smaller buildings and the Empire State building looking high above the horizon... and an eerie emptiness. From a distance, it looked like they had simply vanished--erased from the picture. Posted by SLATE on Sep. 15 2001,01:13
Someone put up a screenshot or a link to the preview, please?

ok, i found the trailer... there's 2 links on this site and apparently only the hi-res one works.< http://www.dtheatre.com/read.php?sid=1468 > Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 15 2001,16:40
Have you guys been noticing all the small things that had the WTC in them? I received one of those silly inspirational email things from a friend the other day, it was a powerpoint deal, but the second pic was of the sun shining over the Manhatten skyline with guess what right in the middle? Also, I was flipping through the channels and The Critic came on. The WTC is right there in the opening of the show, too. Odd how you never even think of these things until something horrible happens... ------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing |
