"Kids say the cutest things" or whatever it was called.

Other then that, the Lexx show on the Scifi network. I can't believe they made a show out of that god-awful series of movies... While I have to admit the movies were very creative, everthing else about them sucked. (Except the scene where that chick takes a shower. )

Oh yes, 3/4 of the new shows on Fox suck big-time, too...

mtv used to have a lot of quality non-music programming, theyve just learned to cancel anything good. im suprised daria is still there. then you have to remember sifl and olly, which is to date my most favorite show ever, i wish they would bring it back. and then of course there was beavis and butthead, now that was a high quality show. and there was also all the other animated shit mtv had back in the day, i mean come on, did you ever watch mtv's oddity? excellent show, not to mention cartoon sushi or aeon flux.

any one of the multitude of 'lets see stupid people cause damage to themselves and their property' shows on fox, the tv news, news-magazines, mtv after 1985, and that damn 'fashion emergency' on e!

i hate those. makes me glad i don't have cable.

anything that has those damm twins in it (olsen i think)

baseball (could be shown in a condensed format very easy)

any"mon" program (poki, digi...)

any talk show (they realy empty the trailer parks for those.

the list goes on and on...

thank god for the discovery channel and its spin-offs. Its the ONLY reason i keep my cable.

why does that not surprise me?

shows that make people famous for nothing more than their wanton stupidity don't do anything for me, which makes me really glad i don't have cable, don't get the jerry springer tv show, and wonder why it is that i even own a tv set.

oh yeah... back when i had cable, i used to watch the discovery channel, the history channel and a&e.

TV is just one big cultural trainwreck, but sometimes the sheer stupidity of it amuses me. Especially if its 3am, got wrists hurtin' from hours of coding, and i'm bored as heck!

I hate every tv show I don't like. I love Discovery and it's spinoffs, and for some reason I like some of the crappy shows like Xena and Hercules, Relic Hunter, and some of the sci fi series. I like Voyager and 7 days on UPN, and I used to keep up on Pretender and Nash Bridges, but haven't watched them for about 3 months now. Oh, and I happen to like to watch Popular and Charmed while doing stuff such as ASP (that's the beauty of TV Tuners that let you minimize to a little window in the corner). But I despise Buffy, Roswell, and all those other WB shows. I like pretty much any educational program such as the National Geographic segments on PBS, Nature, Nova, and all the stuff they show on Discovery, Travel, Discovery Sci, TLC, etc that isn't kiddie programming. I don't watch too much TV any more because of school. As for Cartoons, I hate all those "mon" shows, and most of the "Cartoon Cartoons" on TOON. Never really got into the anime stuff.

Talk shows I despise, except late night shows/comedy talk shows such as Martin Short, Leno, O'brien, etc. Some of them are alright.

I never watch the news if I can help it, it doesn't turn me on.

Posted by Sithiee on Sep. 27 2000,22:14
i love the history channel, id watch it all the time if i had any...damn school...

Cop Rock...

anyone remember that show ? a bunch of cops and criminals singing to each other ? LmAo... what a j0ke

Posted by askheaves on Sep. 28 2000,18:28
I never actually saw Cop Rock, but I always wanted to.

While I'm here: my favorite TV show is Strip Poker on USA (about 11PM here). I actually turn off Loveline (radio) for a half hour to watch it. I highly recommend it to people who have a low supply of pr0n.

Posted by marc c on Sep. 29 2000,01:06
Strip Poker has got to be the dumbest show ever aired. Not only are the questions for complete morons, but half the time they get it wrong... for example one question was "What is the hardest known substance on earth" and they answered "water." No joke. At first I thought they had answered it wrong on purpose, but seeing how they got tons of others wrong that any idiot could figure out, I don't know.

And since you know there's not going to be any nudity, there is absolutely no reason to watch it.

there's actually a show where people get naked on a network where they can't show naked people?

whoever thought this up is probably one rich motherfucker right now.

People ask me to fix their computer. I do in 5 seconds.
They say "You think your good don't you".
I say "I know I'm good". People always ask stupid questions.

I can't stand TV anymore, i had cable and occasionally watched comedy central or the discovery channel, but my special deal through time warner was just about up so i cancelled. If i did have TV (and time to watch it) i'd probably just watch Xena/Hercules/Jack of all Trades because Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell rule.

Bruce Campbell is my hero

That is the one of the stupidest shows I've even seen (although it can be funny sometimes)... it makes me glad I moved out of Sacramento county to a place where there's only one public access station.

I also despise anything on Nickelodeon. My sister used to watch the damned thing 24/7, and I had to put up with it (Mom always sided with her)

Posted by smartsnake on Sep. 30 2000,23:44
another dumb show that is fun to watch if your board out of your fucking mind is battlebots on comedy central

I hate seeing those car crash shows on fox, but mostly because I'm tired of seeing that motorcycle run into the bus.

Oh, and "America's Dumbest Criminals"

DIE!!!!
The Family Guy is one of the funniest shows in existance. It's Simpsons x2. I've actually seen Simpsons emulate Family Guy to some extent. Simpsons is a good show, with decent writing. The stories are well constructed and the quotes stick with you. (I'm referring to Simpsons of old, of course) Family guy puts that all aside, and makes you bust a friggin' gut any way possible. Tell me you didn't wet yourself when the koolaid man busted through the courtroom wall?

BTW: I saw Jackass and it was the funniest show ever. I dry heaved when I saw the porto go over.

Oh, boy.

Did you just write what I think you did?

Ouch. You did.

Dare I even comment on this heresy?...this, blatant blasphemy of all that epitomizes the pinnacle of brilliant sitcom writing?!?! The Simpsons days of yore, when their staff included Conan O'Brian and John Schwartzwelder, was the greatest and most funny show EVER! Deny this fact, and you prove your lack of an intelligent wit and tasteful sense of humor.

True, the current Simpsons scab writers are destroying all that is sacred, and even I do not rush to the TV every Sunday @ 8 anymore. (Personally, I am beginning to favor Futurama over the "new" Simpsons). But Family Goon is nothing but a wicked emulation of the Simpsons; a sort of bastard cousin that uses the same jokes, whether or not it is in a good way, to perpetuate stale laughs and "been there done that" humor. If the Dad on FG isn't supposed to be just like Homer, I must be going crazy.

Don't forget the next line I had written in my post (note, no edits). I said that I was referring to the Simpsons of old... thus, back when Conan was involved, etc. It was a great show, and I agree that it has gone WAY downhill since.

You know, Family Guy is to Simpsons what Unhappily Ever After was to Married With Children. It took the same formula (original in both cases) and expanded on it. The way they expanded was to go out in a different direction, repeating many of the same jokes, but having their own edge. In both cases, the spawned series seems to pick up where the other one is going down the crapper.

BTW: I rush to the TV at 6:00 every sunday to watch Futurama... Then I make dinner at 6:30 so I don't have to watch King of the Hill... Then, if dinner's ready before 7:30, I watch Simpsons. I'm usually not in much of a hurry since it's all reruns right now.

Posted by Sithiee on Oct. 05 2000,22:49
king of the hill is awesome! its not the same kind of humor as the simpsons, but it makes you think. that or i find it especially funny because i know people like that...
Posted by Mahdimael on Oct. 06 2000,02:04
Eh. Unhappily Ever after just had that nice looking redhead. And she was the smart one, instead of the dumb one. Comic genius!

Simpsons is still dope, for the most part, futurama is great-it would be exactly like the simpsons if not set in the future, I think, family guy swings between really funny and kitschy and juvenile crap.

The best show ever was the Ben Stiller Show. That just kicked ass.

Dude, the Ben Stiller show ruled! Andy Dick as the giant floating head was the best sketch ever!

Heaves - Yeah, I know what the next line you wrote said...

quote:
I'm referring to Simpsons of old, of course

...that's what made it so bad! You were talking about the classic Simpsons episodes, yet you used the word "decent" to describe the writing and "good" to describe the show itself! Blasphemy!
