Kbreak had an odd evening; I was hired to photograph a play for one of those eternally hungry Hollywood player types.
Her name is Elle.  This is my take on Elle.

I've known her about 8 years; she's been an actor, ran an actor agency, directed a movie that got released, and now she's in a play.

One time, she asked me to do movie stills for her, and so I did here;
(don't photograph her arguing! *zing* off I went)

I figured shooting her play would be like the movie;
WRONG!

They only do one take; miss the action part?  Too bad.
 Is the light changing too fast? ditto.
Are  you unfamiliar with the story and the cast?
 Shoot faster, then.

Sometimes when I'm shooting, I know I just blew a frame of film.... That happened over and over... This is sort of a comedy/musical, and they had the moves down cold.  It's just 3 days to opening night... and they want the pix for their website....

I think they got about 20 good ones out of 4 x 36 frames.
 That sux.

At the movie, I shot one pickup that I didn't know would thrill her, here;

I figured if they can get close enough to see the video playback they must be the Fuddy Duddies!  I was right, nailed the DP, Writer, and Producer!

I thought I could do it again, on this play, boy was I wrong.  I scouted out all the good vantage points and was told repeatedly, "you can't stand there".  I mean WTF, there's no audience!
 So I decided to stay in the center aisle, figured out the sightlines and waited.
 Just before curtain, some guy says, "you can't stand there neither too"

Shit.  So I just sat in the seats and tried to pace my film.  I told her 150/roll, my usual rate.... at the end of the play, she gave me her prewritten check for 175$.   Just a little short, there, since I did 4 rolls over 3.5 hours.
(good pacing tho, considering I din't know the story)

I thought about it and took the check without a word.... Movies/videos = yes,
 Plays = no.

PS, I have to have the film ready tomorrow.

I think I'll go post on DSL's forums..... (4 U Beldurin)

Artsy people are uptight.  Just to let you know.  They generally suck.  Don't tell "you know who" I said that though ;)
