I was lucky enough to find a theatre in Rochester in the Greece Ridge Center that only charges 7.00 for general admission and 4.75 for matinees. The seats are nice too, stadium seating with really high chair backs, i'm 6'4 and i can rest my head against the chair without slouching.

I have a question- how much do you all pay for movie tickets at the theatres? The price at premium theatres where I live is ป standard admission, ů for matinees or tuesdays. The thing that makes this so crazy is that they are constantly building new theatres! Within the span of like 5 years, they will have built like 10 massive movie theatres in my city... and yet they keep claiming that they have no choice but to raise ticket prices.

Gee, I wonder why you are all out of money- BECAUSE YOU BUILD A โ million dollar theatre every friggin' month!

And I won't even get into concession prices... Okay, so I will. The cost for me to go to a movie tonight and buy a regular popcorn and large drink was about ฤ. That could have easily rented me 4-5 brand spankin' new releases on video. Don't get me wrong, these new theatres are awesome... I just question the quantity of them, as well as the rapidity of their building them.

Well, that's all I have to rant for now...

Rochester NY? When I used to live there, the best theatre was the Tinseltown USA, only Ŭ.25 for Matinee and Ů.00 for evening shows. Great seating too.

I live in NYC its 9.50 on fridays and saturdays and about 8.50 on weekdays. Some of the theaters arent even nice. I go to school upstate though and I dont mind paying that much for a ticket cause at least the theaters are nicer. I think its getting ridiculous. The minute it cost me 10 bucks to see a movie is the day I stop going to see them.
And you know what gets me even more. You pay 9 bucks and then the movie sucks! what then?
its a no win situation.

Yeah, that was ป CDN, but I think they are raising it to ผ.

Now, there are cheapo theatres that have like Ū movies, but the theatres are crap and the movies are all at least a month or two old. The best solution is if you work at the theatres (Famous Players at least) you can watch all the free movies you want (well, like 1 per day) and bring a friend too if you want. My friend used to work there, so that was cool, but then he quit...
