I don't know if any one else does but I hate poems, I mean I really hate them they are stupid and have no meaning out side of the fact someone tried to put meaning into one and expects you to figure it out. There retarded. I propose we end the use of poems and no longer teach it to future generations.
And all things that rhyme should be banned and American businesses that use English spellings like ye old Shoppe should be taxed extra an old english tax, that pisses me off or towne centre ahhhh!!!! Everything in Ireland was like that why do people insist on using that in the states. AHHHH!!!

I'll listen to what you have to say about the misuse of the English language when you learn to use the correct form of "They're".

Deal?

Quite right. Limericks are the only form of poetry I acknowledge.

quit blaming things on being "dyslexic" (I don't even think that's the right spelling). Poetry is a pretty nice thing. Just cuz you're an idiot and can't understand why people rhyme "dime" with "emit" (that's time for us non-dyslexics) or why people write things to express how they feel does not mean poetry sucks. Yes, much poetry does suck (oh my sweet love\ I want to hold you like a dove\ because you're so very... bull shit, kthx. ), but there is some pretty damned cool shit out there.

And why do people use "towne centre" and what not? Because it's PROPER ENGLISH! Have you ever noticed when you read a British book they spell meter "metre"? Holy crap, I wonder why?!?! They're just stupid wannabee American's, right? WRONG! Us American's screwed up the english language. Not saying it wasn't fucked up in the first place, but damn did we screw it over.

And I love funny poems . I wrote a cool one about my teacher last year

Ode to Mr. Puls
For he taught me little,
and wasted my time.

I used that in a project for his class... if you can tell me what kind of poem it is, you'll win a "Ic0n0 is a loser who blames everything on the simple fact his optic nerves are slightly out of order and he's simply an idiot cuz he things poetry sucks!" award! w00p-w00p!

i dislike poems. its like they have problems expressing themselves.

its much more easier to just say it. poems are just a way to make people listen to it more.

I think the main problem here is that you guys don't like the fact that some poems make you think. Don't worry, the pain goes away after a while.

You forget how important poems are in our lives. How many times have you remembered something important because of a rhyming structure?
Think of some of the classics like The Iliad or The Aenid. Those were all poems that have been translated for us.
Most national anthems are poetry set to music.
What would America (and the world) be without Robert Frost's 'Building Walls'.

Funny I bet the same people who moan about poems are the same ones whose radio is set to the local rap station. Talk about banal rhyming......
