here is something interesting. as a general rule, the people that say I shouldn't think about girls etc. and just "forget about it" are all the ones who have girl or boyfriends... for some reason I suspect that most advice like "don't worry" and "you have to be happy with yourself first" actually means "Look, being single sucks, and every time you start talking about it makes ME worry so could you please shut up and go away?"

yeah, involved people worry about being lonely. Single people actually have to deal with loneliness on a daily basis. Do "involved" people seriously expect us to keep our mouths shut about it for the comfort and convenience of people who have relationships? The answer, all too often, is "yes."

i agree. my friends who are in a relationship (all of them girls) often give me advice such as:

oh yeah and i love it how they try to cheer me up by telling me how nice their b/f is, and how they have to end the convesation now because they're about to go have sex, when it's apparant that i like them too.

You have to realize that things arent just going to happen you have to try and make that happen. Thats the main problem with people these days they want it to just come to them.

I totally know what its like to live life lonely (all too well I think) I would say majority of this board is without an SO at the moment--- sometimes being happy without being with someone is the true way to reach out...

yeh... i wish i had a girl friend... being single does suck. especially on lonely nights when youre friends are out with their women and your stuck at home screwing around in Photoshop. its just depressing.

im almost fully confident that i CAN get a girl friend, its just that... i cant talk to them very well.... or something.

my grandma used to ask me if i had a girlfriend....i dont remember too clearly, but i think that eventually i told her i did and thats why she dropped it....

there is only one thing worse than that question... and that's the question "why dont you have a boyfriend?" That's the question people have asked me about 100 times a month over the last 2 years. And the bad thing is - no matter what you answer, they don't believe you...

I think they should start selling them at the 7-11, that would make life a lot easier.

On a single guy side note: When I go look for a girl, the only barganing power I have is money (not true for ALL guys... but for me). Pay for concert tickets... pay for dinner... pay for wine... pay for flowers... pay for etc...

So why can't I pay for an unlabeled future purchace. I give them money, and they buy ANYTHING they want with it. YES, this is prostitution. Why is this illegal?

If I want to spend my hard earned cash on sex with woman I don't know, why should I have to go to jail? If a woman consents to have sex in exchange for money, why should SHE go to jail?

I'm going to take a stab at it... (and I may be TOTALLY wrong, but) there are more women voters in America. They realize that if prostitution was legal, men would have NO reason to date them. They would simply pay a PROFESSIONAL to entusiastically do them.
