Id like to know why it is that every time I screw up theres a cop there to catch me and a judge that wants to stick me to the wall.(from various speeding tickets and traffic infringements.) But when ever someone else comes into my life and disturbs it in an illegal way theres nothing the police do.

Example one. I received a speeding ticket on a road I travel regularly. 61 in a 55. Ok I was speeding but after a speedometer calibration it came out that it was off by 4 mph. I get dressed up and get a lawyer and the judge asks me if I was infact speeding and then gives me 150 dollar fine because even though I didnt know it, I was breaking the law. So now I have a 躔 lawyer fee an 贶 fine and ห court costs. The money isnt a problem but I didnt want the points on my liscense.

Example 2. Two weeks ago at about 10:30pm Im coming home from the store on a pretty much deserted 3 lane road. I stop at a stop light and a drunk driver hits me from the rear. He hit me at about 55mph and did serious damage to my car. (He really fucked up his brand new jag.) He was so drunk when he got out of the car he didnt even realize he hit me. When the cops got there they called his wife and helped him into her jeep and told him to have a nice day. No ticket. No night in jail. No revoked license. His insurance is paying for my car but what keeps this asshole from doing it again.

Example 3. When I first got my car I put a new stereo in it. Not something big just a new head unit and new 6x9s in the rear. About 跌 worth of stuff. The very next weekend my car gets broken into and they steal my head unit, my speakers, they fuck up my dash and they stole my ALARM. WTF. The police come and look at my car and say they cant do any thing. The cops end up finding the dude who stole it (matching serial #'s) and they dont do anything. I didnt even get my stuff back. They said they cant prove that this dude stole it and that I should buy a better alarm. After I freaked out they still wouldnt help me.

I dont have a police record. (cept for a couple traffic tickets) Why the hell does this keep happening? Am I only one?

I know that sometimes you run into some bad luck and get stuck with the shit but come on this is a little too much. I cant say that Im glad that we have police. All they do is bust me(be that I accept my faults and take my punishments) But why is it that it only happens to me? This is an extremly long run of bad luck. Even in that movie pure luck, where martin short is the unluckiest man alive, he still gets the girl at the end. I dont know. I just want to know why every one else gets off scott free EVERY time and I always get the short end of the stick.

Let me know next time you get a new stereo for your car--I could use one myself.

That was in poor taste, wasn't it?

Oh well. . .

i got a
贬 ticket saturday. 81 in a 65 (and no seat belt), i was trying to pass so i wouldn't miss my exit when he clocked me.

the cop drove right by me, it took him a min to realize i turned off at the exit, this pissed him off (i guess he thought i was trying to run from him) so he gave me the max the ticket would allow. fuckin pig!

sure i could have got over but i would have had to cut three cars off to do so. i was speeding, maybe i should have got a ticket, but 贬 because i didn't want to cause an accident! thats a bit much (i would gladly taken โ-70)

Did the cop ever lose LINE OF SIGHT TO YOU AT ANY TIME?
If he did you go to court and tell the judge that you were coming from someplace else that would not put you on the highway at the time the cop clocked you and tell him that the cop must have been after the car that cut you off.
Make sure you get a copy of the police vidio(full disclosure laws) if there was one and make sure you dont see your license plate first.

Yup I live near you dude, looks like the quality of living is slowing going down in the whole state of Virginia. For some reason the majority of everyones teenagers thinks they mysteriously somehow grew up in the ghetto all the sudden. I live near you and in my neighborhood they have even taken the phones out of some of the gas stations because the ghetto wannabes sat at them all night. Plus you have everything ghetto at the mall now on the weekends and there are a ton of cops there. At least 1 or 2 people get arrested every Saturday night now. Thanks alot people for raising such good kids, keep up the good work. For some reason I see a sharp increase in gun sales at Walmart lately.

that would work except the fact that my car stands out. their is no other one like it (as far as the paint (or lack of))

it took him 2 miles to catch up to me.
if i would have known he was still after me i would have pulled over at a store or something, gone in and got a drink, (i heard if they haven't blue lighted you and you take the key out of the ignition they can't do anything to you) oh well, hind sight is always 20/20

Rule #1 - Always fight a speeding ticket. Prima Facia rules always apply when you are travelling under 55mph. If there are two badge numbers on the ticket, then you were probably busted by air patrols, who are very crafty about staying out of sight. Always fight these, as the pilots NEVER show up in court. If you are the receipient of a low scale infraction, and were busted by a Sheriff, fight it. Sheriffs come from all over large counties, and hate being dragged in to a change of venue. Of course, if you feel you do not have the knowledge or authority to do effectively fight such tickets,
invest in your financial future.

Rule #2 - If you are legally intoxicated, and not completely shitfaced, DO NOT consent to a breathalizer. You have the right to do so. Heck, Listerine will set one of those things off. Evade the breath test, and find a good lawyer: you'll be off for a relatively modest fee. Also, be careful about what type of DUI you get. A cop can rail you for being over the limit, or for being "presumably inebriated." A lot of dick cops go for the latter, as it is completely subjective. Do your research, for you can ALWAYS get out of these, while making a lovely "unconstitutional police profiling" jury case.

Rule #3 - Never let a cop abuse your freedom. Any chance you get, try to get a cop in trouble. There are many ways to do this. My favorite (a common practice by the friendly LAPD) is when they stop you for no particular reason, and try to fuck with you. I was working late one night (I work for the Associate Defender's Office, located in a court civic center) and a reserve Sheriff called me over. I was dressed in casual attire (old shorts and a tshirt) and he began to question what I was doing coming out of a building after hours. He said I was a vagrant. I didn't have my id on me, and he wanted proof when I pled that I worked in the building. I repeatedly told him I was late for something, and had to go, but he insisted, threatening to arrest me. He made me march back into the building, knock on locked doors, and search for my boss for about 10 minutes. The next day I had the Sheriff's sargeant kissing my ass, begging me not to sue. Moral of the story: a cop cannot move you, or make you do ANYTHING against your will, without officially arresting you. To arrest you, he must read you your Miranda rights. If he doesn't, you'll be free in no time. If he does, you should NOT look at him nor say a SINGLE word to him. It pains me to watch Cops and see all these ignorant fools get busted for spilling their guts as the cop cuts every single corner and stretches every legal loophole. Don't be a statistic!

Okay, I'm blabbing.

about rule #2, i know for a fact that in pennsylvania the refusal to submit to 'blood breath or urine' test means a mandatory 90 day suspension of driver's license. maybe that's not the law in other places, but it is here. refusal of a sobriety test is an automatic sentence.
