Ok... this is probably my first thread in the rants forum...

WHAT IS WITH THE FUCKING SHREDDER 2000 COMMERITIAL!!! THAT (and mabey the 'bodybag' thing they did for a while) IS SO FUCKING RETARTED THAT I WANT TO GO BUY CIGARETTES JUST TO PISS THOSE GAY COWBOY FREAKS OFF!

Not only that... there's TWO version of the commertial. "WE WILL WE WILL ANNOY YOU" and "EXTRA LONG" (aka: "PLEASE COMMIT SUICIDE").

WORST of all, I think they ACTUALLY DID THAT!! If I was in that building, I would have ran my fuzzy ass face into the filing room and THROWN A FUCKING FILE CABINENT OUT THE FUCKING WINDOW and say, "YOU FUCKING COWBOYS NEED TO GET A FUCKING LIFE!! STICK THAT FUCKING BULL-HORN UP YOUR ASS AND THEN JUMP IN THAT FUCKING SHREDDER, YOU LITTLE PUSSY ASS BITCHS!"

I agree, but those commercials are oddly effective. I'm just trying to figure out who's contributing so much money to truth.com and smellingpukinghabit.com (or whatever it's called) so that we can be berated on a daily basis by the most annoying and misleading commercials ever.

But, it has made me want to reduce my consumption a bit. I don't know if i have, but I have today at least. (Note I haven't directly addressed what the commercials are for our foreign friends )

i agree, theyre as annoying as fuck, but its better than doing nothing. maybe they should take PG on as a consultant on how to make an effective but not annoying commercial.

Do you remember the big settlement that the tobacco companies had to pay out? This is part of it. Truth.com is almost 100\% funded by big tobacco.

How is that for a bit of truth?

I didn't know that-

my least favorite tobacco commercial is the one of the kids in that nasty apt where they are drinking like old milk and making eggs in a dirty pan - then the one kid goes to light a cig and the other one says "Dude thats gross"- I HATE that commercial. They always play it during wrestling- you know tabacco is wacko for teens (I dont think teens would be living in their own apt personally- I was 21 when I got my first place so...)
I think all those commercials are pretty dumb- maybe thats just because Im a smoker and every fucking day someone tells me that I should quit-

Yah, Wolf-man is right about the tabacco funding their own anti-smoking adds...

And the "tabbaco is wacko" this is so RETARTED!!! At the bottom of all the adds it says, "Tabbacco is wacko... if your under 18..." WTF! Is it any better for legal adults? What a ton of crap.

Although I will admit that the April Fools "tabacco recal" add was GENIOUS! That was really good... it got my attention... it made a point... it was funny... and I was actually GLAD that I got to see it twice!

That's great how the smokers found that commercial the funniest. It's like, nobody else probably cared.

When I was a kid, smoking was out of the question (and especially drugs), so I didn't even pay attention to the commercials because it didn't involve me. Then, I started these things, and the commercials annoyed me... leave me alone!!! So, now I sit there, watch the most artistically disturbing 30 seconds spots in history, and get annoyed... as well as convinced to slow down, even though I'm probably under the level where they're actually bad for you, or something.

Hell, you can't even use the patch or gum if you're under a pack a day... which I definitely am. It reminds me of the rehab scene in Half Baked:
"I'm addicted to Marijuana"
"Marijuana?!?!?! Boo!!!"
