ok, just finished metal gear solid 2, and the ending has completely lost me.
can somebody explain the ending?

 SPOILERS AHEAD
Were you confused aobut the colonel being computer generated?
Confused about Rose being on the colonel's side till the ending sequence?
Game didnt make sence in general?
It was a confusing game, with a confusing ending. Its been a while since i beat the game so i dont remember much...with Snake running off to rescue whats-her-name's baby, Raiden trying to find the identy of the patirots, and then the Codec message from otacon saying the patroits were dead. If you were confused about the whole thing, i might not be able to explain it until i finish the game again. If you give me somthing specific, i might be able to help.

okay, so everything was supposed to be a VR training exercise, right? so nothing at all is real?
also the point about training "another snake", which wouldn't be true, in the fact that raiden had field experience as a kid.

Well it wasnt a VR misison. It was a real live exsersise based on the Shadow Moses incident from MGS1. Ocolet said that he was training...i guess his people...to be like Solid Snake, because Snake was the best. Thats why they had things like the colonel, run by a computer and not real in any way, prolly just to throw Riaden off, or make Raiden act in ways for the army to respond they way they were supposed to.....::scraches head:: yeah....confusing game
