Does anyone here have the new XM Satallite Radio or know someone that does? I was thinking about getting one and wondered what everyone's take is on this and what they think... is it worth the 10.00 a month for service?

My friend has an xm radio, he says it's worth every penny. Although i've never tried it, it looks to be very good. Hope that helps.

cons:
f*cking expensive. you also need the reciever ( +$$$ ), an XM capable deck ( +$ ), _and_ you have to subscribe.
Pros:
Can recieve almost anywhere, shallow tunnels, middle of f*cking nowhere, etc. Crystal clear...
I wouldn't buy it tho. I'd spend the money on a home-built in-car MP3 server (cheaper in the long run, upgradable to in-car movies, too )

XM...hmm....well, I've heard a couple different presentations on the topic, and read a few news articles.
From what I gather, it's a good service. One downfall is that, currently - yes, there is no advertising. However, those at the "controls" have not ruled out selling air time. If they ever did that, I'd be of the opinion that it's no better than radio.

I agree to that by far. I mean we do not pay for normal radio now because its so full of freaking commercials. That was my only thought about subscrition fees.. If I pay the fee keep it commercial free. I mean heck if not give it to us for free if your gonna advertise.. I mean you cant get a pack of toliet paper without ads .. sheesh
