What application/platform?

Me it's
Game station: WindowsXP
Workstation: Linux (Slackware or Redhat)
Server x86: Linux (Slackware) or FreeBSD
Server Sparc: Solarus
Server MIPS: IRIX or Linux
Server Alpha: Jizz OS, err... Linux works...
Server HP: HockeyPUX
Sever IBM: AIX (unfortunatly...)

Yes I do have experience in all of these OSs, and I'm missing alot, but the intent and the platform of the computer is very important...

Look... both of Detnet's Mac users voted!

Now the question is... who are they?  And should we kill them, or just send them into exile?

I run:
-XP on my main computer (for gamez, mp3z, and most importantly, detnet)
-2K on my DVD laptop (toshiba portege)
-NT4 on one of my old AST Ascentia laptop's (this thing's a fossil, and I wish I was joking, but I love it) swappable hard drives
-RedHat 5 on the other AST laptop swapper...(a tough job, but I did it)

all of these are on the same network, which is connected to my NetScreen box, and from there to the internet...
the NetScreen did cause some problems with the linux, but that's fixed now..otherwise it's quite the efficient system.

For most things other than gaming and graphics, I prefer Unix. I like Solaris on Sun hardware.

For everything else, I'll take Windows (NT, 2K) over MacOS.

Linux for coding, Windows for school shit and games. I would use linux for typing papers (without crashing and losing work) and other stuff, if i just had a printer that was supported. I like linux so much and every time I use it I try to tell myself never to go back to that awful windows, but its pretty much inevitable.

linux's the shit. ˙Right now I have 3 problems with it:

Sound -  old soundcard pooped out, and it won't let me play sound for more then 20 minutes at any given time, and the "new" one (read: grabbed out of a draw) doesn't want toMy work right. ˙I'm thinking of a soundblaster live! to replace it right now. (EDIT) - nevermind.  just fixed the sound card...  woo, I'm l33t  alien.gif still want a SB Live! though

Printing - stupid parents bought a HP office jet. ˙I'm 16 years old. ˙WHO DO I HAVE TO FAX???

Sound mixing/producing software - still somewhat primative, so makes mixing new songs hard :(

For video games I'm fine because all I really play are old school games like xsoldier or doom, and quake3 works just fine.

I love linux.
