i had WinXP once on my good old 166, not only that i somehow managed to install easy cd creator 5 on it. that was the greatest mistake i ever made. the only way to fix the problems that all of a sudden appeared was to install linux but either way, remove easy cd as fast as u can and get yourself a copy of nero, hoping that once you remove easy cd creator you will be able to resotre your system to semi-working condition. it is possible to restore everything back to normal, but i found that since easy cd writes and replaces a lot of commonly used dlls as well as ASPI layer and whatever else it needs you might have a hard time getting your system to work the way it once did.
