ok i've got an extractor for a game of mine and the sound and voice files are in .wss format i have no idea however what program is capable of playing these files. anyidea?

Try playing them through Winamp. They may be .wss files, but they might actually be in a mp3, wav or some other common format. Winamp is pretty good at figuring this out.

To do that, you should change the extension, since Winamp chooses which input plugin to use based on extension.

Though Windows Media Player sometimes doesn't care what the extension is. Not that I'm advocating WMP as a default player, but as a sometimes-useful tool.

I don't know what experiences you've had with Winamp, but it's been my experience that Winamp does NOT chose the decoder based on the file extention. A good example of this is the sounds in Black and White. They have some funky file extention, but you can just drag and drop them to Winamp and they play just fine. The reason they do is because the are actually MP3s with their file extention changed. Anyway, just wanted to give my Ũ.17
