what is a nice firewall to use.
i need something that would run without taking up all of my system resources, like norton software does, and i need it to run under XP. most of the newer firewalls would run under XP if they run under 2000. I have tried ConcealPC and it just kept crashing on older XP betas, BlackIce Defender wouldn't even start properly and Outpost ran fine for a few days but then started giving me system errors.
Any sudjestion on a good firewall/intruder detection software?

Try ZoneLabs's ZoneAlarm. If you use it for personal use then it is free.

<geek>

Or, use that dusty ol' 486 in the corner, and install FreeSCO or SmoothWall.

Fuck sco and openbsd. Use an OS that has a development effort behind it (snicker).

Slackware... kernel 2.4.x and iptables on a 486.
