Hey folks, thats right you heard it hear first, the DetNet adventure games is in the works. I am looking for anyone that an submit plot design, and if anyone has l33t Java skills (Applet design only), then give me a ring (whtdrgn@cannet.com). So far I have the basic form, and menu bar system worked out. I have how the game is going to go (this is a text based game - oh yea - and I have what I think will be good controls). Like you might have fugured out from above, this is a Java applet so it will run in a web browser. It is text based, so all you old guys will love it.

The plot so far...

Cr0bar a l33t hax0r is on a quest for the ultimate fragg. He will have to buy and build the ultimate l33t box to bust out his phat fraggs. He starts off with what most colledge kids have (NOTHING), and must work to get enough loot to get the phat fragg. He must work to pay for his Road Rat cable modem service, and his nasty pr0n habbit (just kidding). Anyone that wants in on this is welcome to help. Just shoot me an email. I will post code and applet if interest increases. If not then I will just write the fucking thing myself, and to hell with all of you

What about MY adventure // RPG?? It's had a TON of Detnet humor, with a special cameo by cr0bar! It even had kuru as a playable character! Didn't anyone play it???

for one thing, that's compressed with LZH. Few people are gonna bother rooting out a LZh decompressor for that, and lzh is a pretty much dead algorithm now.. ZIp seems to be where it's at.

Secondly, once I located a de-lzher i found the extracted product to not work. Some file or other was missing.. *shrug*.

That is why I am using a Java applet. It will be playable on the web.

And besides, mine is staring cr0bar... assuming he doesn't bitch about it... Kuru might get an appearence in mine, but who knows

Oh you also have to download RPG Maker 2000. Sorry, forgot to mention it...

Oh, and you might also want to get the Font Patch if the fonts look bad on your puter.

your Zip file encapsulates another file (lzh) which contains the bulk of the files for your project. Winzip only supports lzh when you add a special program. And i'm buggered if i know where to find it.

Alternatively PowerArchiver (wwww.powerarchiver.com) - It's a shameless ripoff of winzip - the interface is near identical, and I find it to be somewhat slower than winzip, but at least it comes with lzh support as standard.

I prefer winzip.
