Anyone know how to convert Mpeg-2 to Mpeg-1 (for VCD use)? I tried TMPGEnc, but it gives me errors when I open the source.

meh = n00beh when it comes to this shit.

Why must converting an mpeg-2 to an mpeg-1 require 4 different programs?!

dvd2avi
gordian knot
virtual dub
tmpgenc

AGH! The worst thing is, none of these programs are n00b friendly. I keep getting all wierd errors... I'm about to give up

All 4 programs? I doubt that. Are you going from DVD to VCD or just Mpeg-2 to Mpeg-1? It makes a difference because dvd2avi also does the DeCss.

Mpeg-2 support in TMPGEnc is still developing.

And read through the forums at VCDhelp. There have been a lot of n00bs going through there in similar situations as you.
