Ever since i installed my 2nd hard drive, whenever i go to play any mp3s or wav's, the sound just goes all fucked up, static, and crackly.

i've got no idea how to fix this.

conflicting irq's?

I get crackly, static problems when my speakers aren't plugged all the way in, and if they are then turning the litle jack thing helps sometimes... seriously. I dunno what your new harddrive would have to do with it.

maybe you knocked loose a wire for the soundcard, or you're crushing a wire, or something. no idea for sure though

yeah sounds like an irq conflict or something. cd audio works cuz it's analog and just goes straight to the speakers, while wav's require the soundcard's processor. try switching the slot of your soundcard, see if that helps.

i had a similar problem with my 7ZXR... there's a bios update (i think its F6) which fixes a "HDD with sound issue". basically i think there was a conflict with the on board sound and the hard drive, so when i used to read mp3's off my hard disk, i would get static. if you've got the same board, i would recommend the bios update
