im gonna buy a new case soon, and im trying to figure out some cool modifications to do it. Ive already decided to turn one of my old shitty cd players into a cupholder(if it works, maybe ill write a how-to) and ill probably paint it...but my friend kind of inspired me when he made plexiglass windows in his case...and i guess im just wondering what other people have done to theirs...to get ideas and such...

My case mod that I am going to do:

AOpen HX08 Full tower..
Painted black with a purple "graidient" from bottom to top.
The fronts of the CD, Writer, and floppy is going to be purple.
On one side (where you can see the mobo), I am going to cut out the Autobot symbol.
I am going to put two neon lights in: red on bottom and blue on top.
Fans galore!!! Controlled by a fanbus (where I am also going to have the neon lights swtich).
On the other side panel, I am going to get Optimus Prime airbrushed on the side, and "Primus" above that.
Also, I am wanting to change all the leds to blue

Anything else?

If I had the time and resources I would love to build a fiberglass case and fill it with mineral oil. How fucking cool would it be to walk into someone’s room and see their entire pc swimming in a vat of oil? Plus my friend said he would give me 贄 if I did it...

I've done a couple "case mods" out of rage...

No pic's up yet, but once I got so pissed I took off the panel that goes over where you can get to the mobo, and I bent it pretty bad. Now it just rests on the side... I've also scratched "I HATE THIS COMPUTER" in the side with a knife, and I've added/taken off stickers. I got one rage against the machine sticker, but I changed "the" to "this" . I took off the "designed for windows" sticker thing. But, I've been looking for a new box, if not a new system, and I might do some window/light things...

It depends on how much effort you're willing to put in. A case that was the lifesize shape of Salma Hayek would be pretty desirable. Maybe you could even get a fufme drive. :-)

My friend made a fish tank out of a Mac Classic. Probably not considered a Case Mod since it wasn't operable afterwards... then again, it was more useful afterwards.

Heh, I remember seeing a mac aquarium at aquamac.net . I think they even have imac's there. Be sure to go to here for some great Christmas gift ideas... even though it is a little late.
