www.audiograbber.net

Interface a little cluttered perhaps, but comprehensive feature wise...

I personally prefer AudioCatalyst. It's AudioGrabber with the Xing mp3 codec. It's a good deal faster than the Fraunhofer though some would argue a loss of quality, however small.

I use Musicmatch Jukebox. I like the organization and the ripping. Damn fast and the quality is great! I'm listening right now to some Jazz ripped with it, and it sounds great! It also lets me download the MP3's to my Rio500, so it's a great all-in-one program.

that depends on how big your hard drive is. i've got around 700 mp3s at this point, none lower than 128, and most at 192.

i guess this is one case where size does matter.

All my tracks are ripped with WinDAC 32 at 12x (Pioneer 32x slot)

and encoded using BladeEnc at 128kbps.

I used to have around 1.5Gb of MP3's but I burnt off 2 cdroms worth, since I now have a hi-fi in my room. Previously I even listened to MP3s whilst playing counter-strike.

w00t!

regards, reman

i use AudioCatalyst. it seems to work fine for my purposes. if there's any difference between the mp3s i make and the CD, i can't hear it. then again, i encode no lower than 192, and my ears aren't that damn good.

i used to use WinDAC and another prog that i can't remember the name of, but with AudioCatalyst, i only have to have one app to get the mp3, so that made life a hell of a lot more convenient.

for ripping, i use realjukebox (yeah, laugh if u want)

it may only hit 96kbps max until you pay for it, but it's fast, and when you have over five hundred mp3s, any more than 96kbps and they're not gonna all fit.
