Yesterday was labor day, so the dorm caf at MSU was closed. I had to go to Taco Bell for dinner. I ordered my usual, 3 soft no lettuce, small drink, and cinnamon twists. After eating the tacos, I proceeded to the cinnamon twists. It was then that I remembered when Taco Bell used to serve Cinnamon Crispas. Cinnamon Crispas were like cinnamon twists, but instead of an airy baked twist of dough, crispas were flour tortillas deep fat fried to perfection, and covered with enough cinnamon and sugar to satisfy any sweet tooth. Although I like the twists, I think the cripas were better. I created this thread for nostalgic purposes, so anyone who remembers Cinnamon Crispas can post their thoughts.

I remember them, from maybe about 8 years ago. I used to work at a Taco Bell in California and one in Ohio. The reason they are no longer available is the same reason most fast food "restaurants" don't serve certain items: Real Food = Too Expensive, Pre-Manufactured Food = Cost Effective. Taco Bell ditched the boil pan (where fries are usually "cooked") in favor of the heating lamp and large microwave. Crispas started out as tortilla. Now they are called Cinnamon Twists, which are sorta made out of a tortilla-like, yet not tortilla substance. They are more likely to be made out of that same cardboard substance that is known as Pizza Hut Pizza "Crust", but I am not sure. I just remember that we got them in large bags that were in large boxes and they came pre-sprinkled with cinnamon. Come to think of it, the Pepsi came shipped in cardboard boxes too. Then we would plug the cable from the soda fountain into a Pepsi box.

Words in quotes are exaggerations.

I've never eaten at a Taco Bell, believe it or not. Not that it really has anything to do with this post, but it's been slow around here lately, and I'm bored.

If you haven't eaten at Taco Bell, treat your intestines to a veritable food poisoning roller coaster. I've been to the hospital on two separate occasions.

Dammit, now I'm hungry too.
