I have a full tower which I got from www.cantek.com about 2 years ago. It sounds like a washing machine when I turn it on. I was wondering if anyone knows what brand of fans are the quietest of them all. Thanks.

Do you mean the cpu HSF is too loud or the case fans are too loud, er what?

here's a suggestion..
I have my old celeron 300a@464 2.4v running as a linux server now, and it's damn loud with like 5 fans, so I'm planning on installing a switch on the front of the case that will allow me to turn all of the non-essential fans on and off at my whim. A router doesn't need to be overclocked to within an inch of it's life so i will only need 1 cpu fan on all of the time now.

Install a fan switch. Or if you want to get creative, install a thermostatically controlled fan switch! heheh

or you could change the voltage to your fan to 5V instead of 12V

Oh I was talking about the 3.5" size fans in the front and back of the tower. It sounds like a jet engine when it starts up.

I've reaed that Panaflo has some quiet fans. I'd just do a search for 'case fan reviews'.

Yes, there are many nuts out there that will do a hardware review on a goddamn fan :]

And, who out there has too much time on their hands, or too much money to know what to do with for that matter?

On the note of temp-controlled fans, some ACPI BIOS configurations can control a fan based on temperature. Though I've only seen that in a laptop.
