where all good geeks go to do their shoping. not the mall. not abercrombie & fitch. not gap online.

cr0 don't tell 'em. it's like the atari shirts someone mentioned in the 80s rants.. we'll have a ton of people who don't know anything techie running around wearing techie clothes.

Open mouth, Insert foot, there buddy.

Oh, you mean like my no DVD-CCA shirt I got from www.copyleft.net

Interesting that someone that allegedly doesn't "know anything techie" currently runs his own OpenBSD Apache webserver, BIND nameserver, Qmail mailserver, hosts serveral domains, and does it on his 416 Kbps DSL line which is paid for by my salary working for a large midwestern ISP.

Is that enough "techie credentials" oh great arbiter of all who are allowed to buy t-shirts? If not, I've got plenty more.

BTW, The first computer I programmed on was something called an "Osborne". I wonder how many people remember those.

go for it, flame the shit out of me... but obviously since you already /have/ the open dvd shirt, you know where to get the stuff.

and i never said that there aren't techies reading this, but hell, it's like anything else that becomes too popular. it'll start to suck when it's full of posers. i didn't say a word about you personally, but obviously you have a bug up your ass and you feel the need to try to prove how technically brilliant you are. i didn't say YOU weren't techie. i said that too much exposure to these websites would mean an entire group of techie posers. and for some reason, you took offense immediately.

nobody made me god.. i don't decide who gets what t-shirt.. but i did figure someone like you would get a hemorrhage from the mere idea that there are posers among techies.

i don't care what you run, where you work, what you own, how much you make. that's irrelevant to me. and i'm not going to brag about what makes me techie, because i've got nothin to prove here.

do me a favor and stop flinging your insecurity issues my way. i've got stuff to do.

Umm, you missed the point entirely. I wasn't trying to brag, I was trying to get across that your assumption (That I am some sort of poser) was incorrect.

I was just supposed to let this go? That because I don't know where to find one particular shirt I'm some sorta poser? I only asked where it was in the first place cause I didn't see it on copyleft or thinkgeek.

I grant ya that there are posers in the tech community. Heck, there are posers in any group. My point was, rather than to assume someone is a poser, to give people the benfit of the doubt. On the Internet, you never know if the person you are talking to is 12 years old on his parents' computer, or the senior network engineer for UUnet. (I am decidedly neither :-)

That I don't... In fact, I find the BSD/BSOD bit pretty funny.

iso9k> This thread is just gay.

It certainly is pretty sad. I feel bad for even starting it now. :-) Especially since I opened up my eyes and found the damn thing... :-)
