No, I don't think religion is the cause of all warez. There is a simple reason for this as well. There is no one type of person that uses warez. People of all kinds and religions (or no religions) use and provide warez. It also wasn't started by one person. Maybe the name but not the idea of "pirating".
I do have my ideas of why it happens though.
People, by nature, are "democratic" (I hope I am using the word correctly, and if not, I think you will know what I mean). It doesn't matter if they beleive in it or not, or even if their government follows it (none really do) or not. The "general public" will do what they can to get that the "general public" wants.
If you're not following me (I don't even know if I am), let me explain this again. Democracy is supposed to be based on "the people get what the people want", more or less, right? They decide what happens and the governemnt and everyone/thing else is supposed to adapt to them.
Well, with warez (everything from MP3s to downloading ũ,000+ programs) the people are getting what they want. They want music, they want the programs and either they don't have the money or don't want to pay for them. Is this bad? I don't know, the majority of the people seem to be doing it so I can not see how it could be unless everyone is evil.
Now, money isn't the boss. The companies lose their control unless they do something about it and obviously the people weren't happy with how they were controling it before.
The funny thing is all the companies do the WRONG thing. They raise their prices. All this does is turn more and more people toward warez and other forms of pirating.
Us little people are goping to get what we want whether you like it or not. Either you adapt to us, or you cumble and fall. The funny things is you are us and we are you. We are all humans and the only reason "you" exist is because of "us". "We" are the ones that matter, and not doing things for "us" is ridiculous.
Ok... I hope this made sense and isn't too strange. ;-)
