Internet banned in Afghanistan
AFP - Afghanistan's Taliban militia today banned the Internet and ordered the hardline religious police to punish users according to Islamic law, the official radio station reported.

"Within the territory of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan no governmental or non-governmental, domestic or international NGO (non-governmental organisation) or individuals can exploit the Internet," said a decree broadcast on radio Shariat.

The edict from Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar said the ministry for the promotion of virtue and the suppression of vice, otherwise known as the religious police, had been authorised to punish Internet users.

"The ministry is duty-bound to chase the violators of this decree and punish the violator in accordance to Sharia law," it said.

Dude, those moron's have banned everything. And what is anyone in the world doing? Nothing. I think its time we start to fight for those people. They are so oppressed by those stupid taliban pricks. They can't sing, dance or do anything except work. Seriously, we have to do something about this. I think crackhead bush should do something. I think we, as human beings, should do something. Anyone want to register a domain and donate it to me, and I'll make a site for it. Contact me if you wanna help.

Religion went to far the day someone raised up arms against another ideology for religious reasons.

Oh yes, revolt in a country where they'll kill a woman on the spot for showing her feet. A place where any house with a woman in the house has to have painted windows, where woman must cover EVERYTHING up in public, even their face. Go there Cat and be discourtous to a member of the Taliban. They'll kill you on the spot.

well I didn't say it was right or that their government was a force of good, what I was saying is that it's not up to the United States to just randomly go to other countries and kick their asses becuase we don't like their laws.

CK,I'm not saying we should attack them. I'm saying we should have talks with them. People have the "god-given" right to show their feet and not get killed. People have the "god-given" right to show their face.
Its not the small things that are of most importance.

Yes, the people voted them in, but perhaps the people didn't know the Taliban was going to be like that. Perhaps they are too afraid to revolt. I think that those people hold their honor very highly and hate to be dishonored or disgraced and they are perhaps afraid to revolt or speak out because of this. Religious beliefs should not be FORCED on people, as they are doing. I have nothing else to say.
