I took the time out of my nap today and went and seen this movie. Mel Gibson and Sam Elliot make an awesome pair in this movie. I really think its worth taking the time to see!! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

Quite right. Even though Mel was playing it up in William Wallace mode on occasion, it had much more character than, say, Blackhawk Down (which was highly excellent from an action and technical perspective, however).
Also good to see Barry Pepper getting good work after the debacle that was Battlefield Earth.

.. We went to see the count of monte christo because it was showing 10 minutes earlier.
It rocked. But the ending was too conveniant.
We're watching WWS next week.

solid, I dont think you will be disappointed with WWS. It was great along with BHD. I enjoyed both movies. I thought WWS would be a rip off but it was done very well... I really liked it. I meant to see Count of Monte Crisco but didnt get time off to go see it. Anyways, I still dont think it will be a waste of your time. Let me know how you like it once you see it.

I don’t really understand peoples obsession with war movies, my grandfather used to tell me horror stories about his experience as part of the invasion force on Iwo Jima, and I have never really like war movies since.

I knew a gentleman that was in Iwo Jima too. He was not my grandfather, but my brother-in-laws grandfather is who it was. Anyways, I dont really have a obession with them per say, its just that I like seeing America kick arse. However low it may seem, fighting a war, but most of those men will never forget what they went through, and in some odd way this may be a tribute to them and what they sacraficed for their ground we walk on and call home.

I just want a war movie that shows all the people one thing.
People in a war die horible deaths.
If everyone got that simple fact there would be a lot less war.
Hey dave, thanks for the good thoughts but a lot of us cant watch them. Brings up the dark things that are better left alone.
And hey, You are welcome

My granddad was in World War II, and he absolutely loves WWII movies.
'Course, he wasn't really in the war. He was a meteorologist in the Pacific.
Then again, I come from huge military family, none of which have done shit in the military. Like my dad. Flew F-15s. Never shot at a damned thing. Same with my uncle and F-18s. And my other uncle, who flew cargo planes. And my grandpa, who was a mechanic on Sabers in Korea.
I think I'll join the Coast Guard.
